Small alliances claiming constellations/a single region are the future, compared to 5000 member alliances that claim 4-7 regions and barely can hold on to one...

There is no need to hold more than 1-2 regions anymorew with introduction of outposts. You can turn the useful volume of 1 region into the useful volume of 5 old regions by the use of outposts. And it is much easier to defend one or 2 regions.
On another note I'm sure i read somewhere about future plans for like commonwealth set up, or like the US system where multiple alliances can ally themsevles under 1 flag. Dunno if thats gonna happen or even happen in the next year or so. But CCP definately has the smaller alliances in their thoughts.

Edited by: Commoner on 31/12/2005 13:20:48 I'm finding it odd that people on this board are so judgemental and can decide what "good quality" alliances is.
Fact is, alliance have very diffrent goals, some strive for territory, others pack together to get protection from random war decs.
An industrial alliance in empire would never fall under a "good quality" alliance under the terms put up on those boards, because such alliances simply have different goals.
Alliances are also very diffrent in the way they are being run, many alliances who hold terriotory employ a very top to bottom style of leadership while some other alliances simply enjoy the freedom they have under a united alliance banner.
But as said, yes small alliances have a future. Their plans for the future might not be the ones we suggest here.
Oh, happy new year btw :)

This is just an opinion but those 1-50 ppl alliances should really merge as a corp instead...
But hey, whatever floats your boat. -------------------------

Actually at some point in the near future I expect a major consolidation. There are far more alliances than 0.0 space for them all. I think some alliances will lose territory and be absorbed into larger alliances for self defense. The age of the mega alliances will return I think. History does repeat itself you know.
