Edited by: Felicity Glimmer on 22/12/2005 10:57:57 The new T2 barges are only available from Gallente starship engineering
I cannot see why CCP would do this, sure ORE used to be a gallente company long ago but they are now an independant company who live in 0.0, if this was for some lores sake, and they appear to have stretched it to even make it fit in, they have only seeded barges for gallente starship researchers, i believe this one of CCPs worst moves yet.
With RMR came an equal chance for all with starship engineering to obtain a blueprint, wait, no, it didnt, if you do gallente starship engineering you must be special because you get a chance to win a T2 barge, unlike the other 75% of researchers.
Who feels that they have been treated unfairly? Why did ccp even do it, there was NO need, all CCP have managed to do is anger many people and leave them wondering, why?
Are you going to leave it this way CCP, or sort it out?

Edited by: Koori on 22/12/2005 11:01:22 Life is not fair. Get used to it.
It's not fair IMHO, but you know that factions are not equal in EVE. That's cool that we have some things that are different factions. Otherwise what is the reason for having different factions?
That is harsh way of showing those differencies, but... Keep smiling mate.
EDIT: Oh, can i have your stuff?

CCP have tried very hard to make Eve as realistic as possible. It's unfair, it's harsh, it's brutal and that's why so many love it. Imbalance is interesting. If the playing field were level it wouldn't be Eve.

the chance to get a BPO is so small - i dont care what agent gives em out. ORE dont have any R&D Agent, all stations are in low sec(?) - so why not gallente? I think Caldari would be the smarter choice but....

If ORE was a part of Gallente federation some time ago its the best available option (RP-wise) to seed their BPOs trough Gallente. Or mabe you want to add some R&D agents for ORE just to seed few BPOs/year...? Is it better?
Every time you play against other people things are not totally fair. If you want total fairness go and play Minesweeper.

I have 500 rps in electronic engineering and I think it's really unfair that I don't have at least 3 hac bpos and one of each of the recon ships by now.
I mean, clearly, everything has to be fair, doesn't it?
It's not like the Caldari get by far the best stealth bomber or anything. Or the Gallente the best carrier.
Until stuff is seeded, anything you're researching for is pure speculation. I had half expected to see all the ORE barges under every starship engineering, but then again if ORE was a Gallente corp, then that makes sense too. -- Lyrus Associates is recruiting |

Sorry but I have to chime in here. I don't agree with the attitude that it's OK to be unfair in this game just because it sometimes is in other areas of life. While I am not specifically referring to the complaint on tech 2 barges being Gallente here, I do agree that the factions are different and that they are not equal but they are correlative and comparable. Also I think that a game as this should generally be a 'level playing field' for all the factions so that all players have similiar opportunities.

For christ sake stop whining about something that is slightly pointless. CCP tries to make this game realistic, and people love it because of that. Evil pirates, ore thieves, bounty hunters, podders, they all can exsist and i am many others LOVE IT. The freedom and width of professions is amazing. (Im not a fanboy but i havent been playing for a long time so im still in awe a bit. ) Other factions have there benefits/disadvanteges, and im sure CCP will change things in the future so maybe caldari or amarr will have the edge in an area for a while. Realistically things are NEVER EVER 'level' and if they were wheres the fun, and what would be the point in factions? Regards

Yeah I dont really understand what is it all about. I dont understand why the manufacturers should be in a better position than therest of the players. Should I whine because I cannot put 8 Mining Lasers II on Raven as Amarrians do? 'Cause it is not fair! If I want to mine effectively without a barge (and I dont mine) i need to train bloody Amarrian BSs. If you dont have Gallente R&D agent you wont be able to get T2 Barge BPO. Yes, it's not fair. But you can have Gallente agent if you want. Yes, i think that CCP should inform players that barges will be seeded trough Gallente agents long before seeding BPOs.
What is my point? This is a game. A good one, where you can get something that other players wont have. And I simply hate all the whine about new features of RMR. I'm not a CCP fanboy, but from my experience, almost all the changes made by devs, in long run, were right.

No r and D agents in low sec or 0.0 - adds to a t2 focus within empire (this is also holding back the exodus) Im a happy little camper now - CCP 4tw. |

For all this talk about "Keeping the game real" and "CCP wants the game to be realistic", I find it funny that weapons are beeing continuallly balanced, to keep one type (be it missiles, rails, lasers) to not be dominant.
I a realistic world, so many different types of weapons wouild NEVER deal roughly the same amount of damage, ofcourse there would be a specific weapon that would be better than all the rest.
And lets see them implement this change when 75% percent of the playerbase have trained specializations in another direction .. I'm pretty sure that the outrage would be ginourmous.
I think, even though this most probably have been done "to keep with the lore of Eve", that its a gift to all Gallente RDers, and a slap in the face to the rest of the researchers.
A more even distribution, maybe 1 barge to three different directions, and then maybe another high-priced item to the last, would have been more fair.

exactly, they didn't tell people that in advance, meaning it isn't fair that the people who have agents in the other fields didn't have a slim chance of racking up the LP before they started to drop, hence the whines.
and for the record, I don't give a toss as I much prefer making the producers donate the isk to my wallet when I catch them with their pants down in a belt :) ------------- Please make Minmatar overpowered, CCP |

Considering that the last "event" in EVE was a Gallente one that has totally and completely fizzled out, maybe this is as someone else put it, a "gift" to Gallente engineers?

There are 3 T2 barge bpo's that are not available to anyone but gallente, right ?
On the other hand, there are 5 other ships for each race, a crapload of ammo types, multiple new modules, and the regular seeding of the ones already in.
What effect do you think that this has on your overall chance of getting a bpo, comparing gallente research to any other research ?
right, null. _______________________________________________

well it actually has a large effect for 3/4 of the eve population, i.e. those from other races.
I think this is an absolute outrage, not only did the galante take our homeworld, they also have the T2 barge BPO's all to themselves.
A dev care to elaborate on the reasons for this?
