A Proteus with a deadspace rep can easily solo Vanguard sites. Just warp in and take on the Tama's first and you should be fine. Yarr |

You just got trolled.. you can't solo a vanguard site, it needs a team of 10 people, at least 2 of which are logi pilots.
Maybe in full officer gear you Might.. but I doubt it. Incursions do Omni damage btw, not just 2 damage types.
I recommend you go to an incursion area that is busy, and ask in the incursion channel for some info.. I know there's several websites out there that have fittings and whatnot listed.
Basicly, you want to fit as if you're going into PvP, minus the point if you usually carry one. Fit for Omni resist buffer and high dps. The logi's are there to keep you alive.
ask around for channels to join and whatnot. there's plenty of incursion people willing to help out a newbie.

Vindicators are pretty win for incursions... if you have no Minmatar BS skill, I suppose you could ake due with a Kronos.
Otherwise, shield tanked Hyperion or navy mega... (maybe a navy Domi.... but you really should be using pirate BSs for incursions) Armor tanks just aren't very popular for incursions, I think >95% of people do shield tanks, and since you need to be in a fleet with other people, its a feedback loop... so shield tank or find a dedicated armor group that only runs at certain times. |

For starters, I suggest that you look through this post - https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=206859&find=unread
It contains a lot of information useful to anyone thinking of getting into incursions. It will also give a small insight into some of the drama associated with these. Don't be put off by it, as incursions are good fun & a great opportunity to meet some people with a good knowledge of the game.
In terms of income, you can expect to make 100-200M ISK per hour (depending on site types) while you are in an active fleet. That said, you need to take into account travel time (which can be up to 30 jumps or so), time waiting to get into a fleet & times when there are no hi-sec incursions at all. In the last week I've travelled to 3 different hi-sec incursions & not once got in a fleet before the incursion ended.
Shield fleets are the way to go at this time & as a general rule the preferred ships are Nightmares, Machariels & Vindicators (I am assuming you're looking at a DPS ship rather than Logi). Each community has their own fitting doctrine/preferences & many of them have mailing lists of required fits. If you want to get into a fleet quickly & consistently, get one of these ships, fit it properly & ask politely - 90% of the people in the various communities will be very helpful in guiding you.
If you can't fly the above ships my personal suggestion is to be patient, train up your skills & do some research.
Good luck. |
