You don't have to activate SLI, as long as it's activated in the driver (which it will be) you're fine. However, SLI (and crossfire for that matter) only work in full screen so if you used windowed mode then only one of the cards will work. Would you run more than 1 client you could assign one card to a specific client and the other card take care of the second one but it's not really logical.
All in all SLI and Crossfire really aren't that amazing, for various reasons. Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

Considering a single card can drive EVE at 60 FPS, SLI is massive massive overkill.
And you won't get higher than 60FPS, unless your monitor has a higher refresh rate. Eve defaults to Vsync on.
If you want to turn that off (for some reason. no real point driving higher rates when your monitor isn't able to display them), you want to turn 'Interval' to Immediate on the graphics screen. Just don't complain when your card melts. Steve Ronuken for CSM 9!-á I'm starting early :) Handy tools and an SDE conversion Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |

As others have said just go to your AMD Vision Control Center. Click on Gaming and you will find an option to turn on Crossfire.
IF you are running 2 video cards you should seriously think about adding in 2 more monitors, or maybe you already are considering you have 2 video cards. EVE looks great with Eyefintiy

My fps with highest res and highest quality settings in fleet with 40 ppl shooting is around 150 now! Is that good? my grapchic cards are gtx 660 sc*2. |

What Mr Ronuken is attempting to explain Kain, is that while the theoretical maximum FPS you could obtain from an Eve client may be much higher, physical hardware limitations make this a moot point.
Your monitor will, presumably, have a refresh rate of 60hz meaning that the maximum FPS it is physically capable of displaying is 60FPS. In other words, don't trust the internal Eve FPS counter because it does not reflect the practical hardware limit.
It would be more beneficial to you to keep v-sync on and improve the shelf life of your graphics card. |

What he means is that your screen FPS is most likely 60hz, there are screens that do 120hz but if you had one you'd know about it. So your screen refresh being 60 it makes no sense to have more than 60 fps and all it does it fry your videocard and put the card's cooling fan on overdrive.
So, your super fps is meaningless and literally useless. Just set it to interval 1 and be done with it.
Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

So you guys are saying there is no point in having more than 60 FPS as most screens won't show anything above.
However wouldn't SLI help in keeping at least 60 FPS when there is an engagement going that would stress a single card below 60 FPS? |

I got 12fps outside Jita 4-4 during the anniversary celebrations despite having quad SLI GTX 690s.
There isn't a SLI profile (not an optimised one at least) for Eve. |

Setting fps to 125 gave you bonus to movement rates in some games like quake 3. However. A bunch of new technological doohickies and dribblecode has changed things. Yes a 120hz monitor is awesome. With more than a 1/100000 contrast ratio. I doubt getting more than 60 fps in Eve is relevant. However. I wonder what kind of tweaks EveVR will bring. Dont forget to turn on your cooling systems before you boot! |

Many EVE vids are captured at 15fps and you will simply hardly ever notice it. Sure an SLI could help in messy situations but generally if you have SO much on screen you'll be zoomed out anyway, so your card doesn't really matter. And there'll be way other stuff that'll lag or cause a slow down (Tidi for instance).
Graphical lag is only really an issue on things like notebooks or not being zoomed out in large fleets, nothing SLI would help with. Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

SLI works fine in window mode.
I can tell by watching my GPU temps that both are being used. I have a EVGA GTX 690
Rendering >60 FPS allows frames to be discarded, so performances doesn't drop below 60 FPS. |

There isn't a SLI profile (not an optimised one at least) for Eve. dosnt matter, even if you had 4 titans, EVE is single CORE CPU Bound thus what you had was a processor dying from stress. |

OK, so i tested a few things, and since i got a new conclusion... SLI in eve is amazing i did not even know, me i play with alts all the time in windowed mode, and you dont need to tab out with SLI, you can just click the other screen and control from there, no need to click tab alt or anything... without SLI multiboxing would require another software like ISBoxer, now i know why people use ISBoxer.... lols because you need to alt tab even if you have multible monitors
Well its not SLI sorry its actually there screen spanning toll, us it |
