Seems like there has been varying amounts of TiDi in Amarr recently, with populations near 1000. Is something going on that I missed or is it just becoming Jita 2 and will need its own node? |

I am currently in Amarr. Population 862, TiDi = 82%.
Pathetic.
Ooops, just dropped to zero. Looks like CCP has started re-inforcing other nodes besides Jita and their precious null sec friends. |

CCP said after the battle of Asakai that they can. They just take the other systems on the node off it, reinforcing the node.
Those other systems get rebooted, but that's ok. This is EVE - Everybody Versus Everybody.

ergo, they cant reinforce nodes without bringing them down.
also, tidi at 82% means the game was 18% slower. just pointing that out, some people read tidi the other way around and get outraged. |

Why do you highseccers gotta complain about time dilation at 82%? It is not uncommon that we nullseccers experience it at 30% or lower. Fit a warfare link to your tech 1 battlecruiser. Train Wing Commander. Get in the Squad Commander or Wing Commander position. Your fleets will be superior to everyone else's. |

I actually like TiDi in the trade hubs. They feel more busy and crowded that way. And it encourages people to trade outside of those places. It will be interesting to see if new hubs develop because of this, perhaps markets that are specific to certain players, like minerals or ship fitting.
If CCP is thinking about changing the geography of security it might be good to get that in place during this trade hub overload. What is gaming when compared to rl? -á http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=V7-1ndsiVNA&feature=endscreen |

Grown A LOT over the last two years. Used to be 80-100 max but has grown over time. If I'm going to spend over 100m I'll still do it at Jita because the market droids keep the buy/sell prices there relatively optimised. But otherwise I'll buy/sell at Amarr because travelling all the way to Jita is a bore.

The fact that you guys don't already have the other trade hubs on dedicated hardware is laughable. Dodixie and Amarr especially so.
But, :CCP: so not really that surprised.

But, :CCP: so not really that surprised. the node the system is in not only handles ships in space, im guessing it also takes care of market transactions, if only to relay them to the server that manages the regional transactions. a system like jita must has thousands of transactions every second. if you check market aggregators you'll see that even when amarr is huge, it still doesn't come close jita in volume. so give CCP a break.
Since you are guessing, please get back to me when you are 100% certain and thus capable to comment.
It's not rocket surgery to reinforce known areas of load with dedicated hardware when your software is not multi-cpu or multi-thread capable.
No breaks given since CCP is able to fund giant fish tanks and the shuttling of neckbeards to Iceland under the guise of player representation.

I just found the pair of replies rather delicious, since you were guessing at the status of Dodixie on the cluster as a foundation of your earlier argument.
In any case, Amarr likely should be on its own node, but the loadbalancer isn't doing that right now. We'll likely need to correct that. CCP Veritas - Senior Programmer - EVE Software |

We have been waiting for this day. With the possibility of Amarr being moved to its own little blade, Amarr now counts as a trade hub. It gives me warm fuzzies. |
