your not even given the chance to get into a system?
for the past 2 days i have been trying to get into a location to try pvp, how the hell am i supposed to enjoy pvp when i can't even get into a location to try it. Gates are camped, anything that moves through the gate is destroyed. Sorry but i just cannot see the point in buying another ship for some campers to pop.

Nope, there's no way to have PvP unless you go to Rancer. That is the only system where it is allowed. |

have not taken any offence at what you have said m8.
i am fine upto the point where i reach the r3 gate, now for someone who has not done pvp and lived in high no amount of reading or thinking is going to make the route any safer or easier, that can only come from experience and practise. i chose that way as the corp operates out of hp-6z6. what or where is the catch?
this option i did not even consider it may well be my next move 1. Buy covert ops frigate. 2. Fit covert ops cloak. 3. Laugh at campers in local. 4. Collect tears.
cheers

So if I'm reading you correctly, the parties at fault for this are:
-The game -The campers -The universe itself -CCP
Parties who are not at fault for this: -You

Whining implies that you feel you've suffered some sort of injustice, or that the situation is something other than the way you feel it should be. It's the same as any other externalization of fault.

So don't.
You say your corp operates out of Providence. They probably have an office there. You can dock in a station, set your medical clone to an office in providence, try to get past them in just your pod. If they blow up your pod you'll land where you were already trying to get to....
Frankly, it's really impossible to do anything like "pvp" with guys who camp high/low-sec gates for a living. They know their game well, they'll have you scouted well in advance of you jumping and if they can take you, you're going to die.
However, despite the fact that they're all red and flashy and have macho sounding epeen in local chat, most of the low-sec choke hold campers are incredibly risk averse. If they have any doubts about whether or not they can take you then they'll scatter like cockroaches in the light and hide in a safe spot (or dock up to be really really REALLY safe like the ones in Rancer do) and suck their thumbs while you go past. They may try to smack talk in local chat while you're in their system but I can never understand what they're talking about with their thumbs in their mouths.
In any case, they will never EVER engage on anything but a sure win...
Which points to the 2nd way you can get past them. Enter with a fleet. They'll run. guaranteed. |

Black frog your ships and stuff to a station you can access near where the fights happen you want to be a part of. enjoy!
If a heavily contested system is camped by the enemy stopping you getting in, they are doing it better than you, collect up a few buddys and take them on!
Saying you cant get into a fight for any reason other than the system is on tidi and lagged to hell, is silly.

I understand completely, since peeveepee only happens in that one single system in all of the Eve Universe. I guess you'll have to biomass your toons, cancel your account, and go back to WoW. "Blow it all on Quafe and strippers." --- Sorlac |

I'll try to be less mean that other posters, but TBH, none of them are wrong either.
BEFORE you undock. Check the map. It has filters for number of ship jumps in the last hour/24hours, you'll see if it's a heavily trafficked system. Filter for ship kills and pod kills in last hour. If you get a giant red balloon, chances are the system is hot, whether it's gate camped or not- stay out unless you are prepared for serious PvP against multiple foes. In Null Sec, nearly as many pod kills as ships usually indicates a camp using bubbles. You need to find a system that has traffic, but few kills. Not NO KILLS, but a few probably indicates local pirates- this is who you want to fight.
Go there and look in local at bios. Find a pirate (negative sec status) and convo for a 1v1. Most likely they'll happily accept- pirates just want a fight, which is hard to get in low sec. I lived in Molden Heath as a pirate, trust me on this- you WILL get an honorable fight if you ask. They are pirates, they aren't afraid of you..or losing a ship. I'll name-drop here....RANSM, BRRC (my former corp), among others can be counted on for honor duels. Put your pod in a safe after losing (which you likely will) and chat. Pirates are really into PvP and geek out on numbers and fittings, they will talk your ear off with advice.
Alternatively, go to null sec and camp a gate yourself in a cloaky Interdictor (very easy to train for, all newbs should train for them really). Set up over the gate and cloak. If something comes thru you can take on (other destroyers, frigates, miners, haulers) then decloak, bubble, lock, kill, laugh.............if it's too big, stay cloaked and watch it warp away.
Best of all- join up with others and storm into a system with friends. FW militia isn't my favorite place to find a fleet, but it's designed for that purpose. Just have to be patient, poke veterans to form a fleet. Lots of good pilots there, don't be afraid to ask questions between fights. Many pirate corps specifically look to take on newbs since it takes only a couple weeks to be flying frigates and destroyers well and they tend to fly those mostly. Sort of the anti E-Uni. Although E-Uni itself is a tried and true entity training PvP all the time in dedicated educational fleets.
GL, stick with it. Eve needs more PvP'ers.

Yeah, because there aren't other ways into Provi. That aside, the gate camp hasn't been created that can't be successfully navigated with a little bit of skill. If you handle it correctly the campers need to be good, and also very lucky, to catch you.
