Lucien Visteen wrote:I don't know about you guys, but I prefer flying in space. I get stuff done there. But when I go back to the station before logging off, or finsihing a mission or some other thing. It will have to be the captain's quarter. My satisfaction of seeing how my ship looks like is sated when I am out flying it.
And what happens when you want to turn back a mission or unload your cargo? What if you need to repair or buy amo?
I prefer space too, but sometimes you need to dock. The ship hangar is better as it takes 2-3 seconds of loading time, which is perfect when you need to dock-undock very quickly.
Plus, on a RP view it just makes more sense. I am not going do get out of my ship unless i want to chill out in my CQ. I don't understand why this option to switch from hangar to CQ wasn't there in the first place.
It's almost as if CCP was so proud of their CQ's they wanted to force them on us. Might sound a bit paranoid, but i don't see any other reasons to it. |

I'd prefer a bug-free game. Now with this latest turd, T3 ships are fubar in hangers (a bug from about 1.3 years ago). I can see this return is going to be exceedingly shortlived. Incarna - exceedingly pointless - one cancellation already, *** going for two now.... |

Captain's quarters, feels weird ship spinning now.. Also I noticed no performance increase with ship spinning - which is the only reason i would have used it. |

Ship spinning is fine.
Until CQ has some kind of real content then there is no real reason to use it.
Gameplay in EVE is driven by the use of ship avatars not personal avatars so the ship spinning fits with this model of game play. |

I prefer the CQ, simply because the ships don't spin in the "ship spinning" screen, the camera does. I hate inaccuracy. |

Apologies to Sir Mix-a-lot, but I've said it before:
I like ship spinning and I can not lie You other capsuleers can't deny That when a ship flips around in an itty bitty space And a thruster thing in your face You get sprung, wanna pull out your tough 'Cause you notice that hangar was stuffed Deep in the hangar she's profilin' I'm hooked and I can't stop spinnin' Oh baby, I wanna get with you And snap your screenshot My corp-mates tried to warn me But that hull you got makes me so horny Ooh, phat-textured-skin You say you wanna get in my CQ? Well, spin me, spin me 'Cause you ain't that average internet spaceship I've seen them spinnin' To hell with flyin' She's gloss, tight, Got it goin' like a turbo 'ceptor I'm tired of managers Sayin' 2d doors are the thing Take the average space man and ask him that She gotta spin much hull So, capsuleers! (Yeah!) GiRLs! (Yeah!) Has your hangar got the spin? (Hell yeah!) Tell 'em to spin it! (Flip it!) Torque it! (Rotate it!) Shake that healthy hull! Hangar got spin!
edit: Yes, that's a vote for ship spinning

Of my 3 accounts I keep this one on CQ because I look better than my hulk.
The other 2 are generally only run when I multibox so to get decent fps they are on ship spinning. Otherwise dumping ore or setting up the fleet is a painful slide show.

Putting aside the sentiment of an obvious majority (who prefer to spin), I have to agree with this comment. There's no reason to continue to rub the developer's noses in the proverbial doo-doo, especially after they conceeded.
That said, it's good that spinners can spin again. Personally, I prefer the CQ, but it's nice to have both options.

I don't get this irrational fascination with "ship spinning" to be honest. Is there some secret mini-game involved with it that I'm yet to discover in my 14 months of play time? Or is it just something you think should be cool, because all the other cool kids tell you it's cool, which you blindly accept as you are all sheeple.
It's your ship...and it spins...and???? I'm drawing a blank. CQ, while very much lacking in any depth and purpose (yet) is a tiding of what is to come. The promise of what it will lead to has me very excited. I for one value immersion in my gaming, adding a realistic experience that adds a new dimension to the sandbox can only be a good thing.
I even saw some guy complain that the camera angle wasn't the same as the old station environment, are you ******* kidding me? The more I read threads like that and posts with pointless whines like that guy, the more I shake my head at disbelief at the utterly strange behavior people exhibit at times.
Wake up to yourselves, it's just a ship with a camera that can rotate around...so what. And if you are complaining about CQ because you have an underspec PC, you can either turn it off or get a PC that can handle it. Either way, these pointless, petty whinge threads need to FOAD. |
