Whas the point of T2 1600mm plates if the rolled tunsten have same hitpoint bonuses and lower fitting requiremets ??

Because they're cheaper and you also end up able to use TII armor hardeners.

Seems to me that someone who's got a BPO is upset about his BPO not being worth as much as a cap recharger BPO?

If you don't have the skills for 1600mm plate II, then you don't have the skills for armor hardener IIs either

1600mm Tungstens can only be found on NPCs and such, T2 1600mm Steel Plates can be manufactured, making them less rare.

most t2 equipment is better than the original t1 and named t1, the cost being harder fitting requirements.
t2 1600mm are the same as the best named t1 , but with higher fitting requirements.
i agree with the poster, the named t1 are better, and easier to fit. ok there more expensive but why use t2 in this case? theres no good reason whatsoever.
t2 (should always be) > t1 and named t1
imho t2 1600mm are a total waste of time.

I'd fit a 1600 nanofiber anyway on my ships, the tech 2 should be like a nanofiber but give same HP it gives now.

There are loads of 1600mm rolled tungsten plates on market - granted 10 - 12 m instead of 5 for t2 but who cares they are better !!

all t2 guns have the exact stats as the best named t1, but the fitting is higher... guess that you said 'most' though. really t2 on certain things is all about availability. -- Thread Killer (attempting to train verbosity from 4 back down to 1) <END TRANSMISSION> |

Except guns have skill bonuses applied only to them, which make them better in the end.

And yet there are situations - for eg. blasterthrons - where switching to t2 guns causes a significant reduction in setup effectiveness, because the changes needed to fit the guns compared to best can in some cases penalise you more than an 8% extra damage, especially if switching to t2 means you have to drop a damage mod.
Imho, cost and availability are and will remain the principal reasons for the use of t2 guns to the seasoned player, until such time as CCP releases t2 ammo. ------------- Down for mainteinance while i look for a new pet peeve.

thank god for the voice of reason. my point exactly. if you can use t2 guns, you apparently have the skills to use them, so they're better in the end, despite the fitting, cause a good fitting can always be made up. only thing that can be done to save some pg and cpu is to get named guns (which cost more) after you've trained for t2.. I would do that if I was filthy rich. //crunatus.net__ |

again the skill comes into account here as if you are using rolled tungsten you only need hull upgrades at LVL4 if you use hardners as well wich i supose you do now using T2 requires LVL5 so thats another 5% extra armor on your ship and if you spend the time training it and have room on your setup why not use the cheaper T2 the only reason for using T1 is lack of skill and lack of fitting on your ship r being filthy rich and hating the T2 system wich i doubt anyone is
