You agree that CCP may remotely monitor your Game hardware solely for the purpose of establishing whether in playing the Game and accessing the System you are using software created or approved by CCP, or whether you are using unauthorized software created by you or a third party in contravention of Section 6.
Can someone please explain the real life implications of this??
Whilst I have no trouble being checked that I am not using macros or bots or whatever, I do not like the idea of CCP having remote access to my computer??
Maybe it has been in place for a while and i am only just noticing it. What does this mean and what does it allow CCP to do?

Since you are basically asking them to, probably. Realistically, their programs probably only go look for AAA.exe or BBB.log file and couldn't care less what else is nearby. |

If you're really paranoid, encrypt your **** ( http://www.truecrypt.org/ )
Technically, if CCP did access data, files or programs that can demonstrably be shown to NOT be solely for the purpose of establishing whether in playing the Game and accessing the System you are using software created or approved by CCP then they could potentially land themselves in trouble from various data protection commissions.

You don't share? Malcanis' Law:-á "Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of 'new players', that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players."

I have always wondered if CCP monitors the websites people visit within the in-game browser. I don't know about you guys but I find browsing Fukung during a boring CTA makes the time fly. Bounties for all! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2279821#post2279821 |

No, you don't.

I think you don't quite understand the OP. I am asking what they are able to do.
When someone penetrates me I like to be told about it ;)

If they were looking at stuff they shouldn't be looking at, you'd already know, because there are always people out there looking at decompiled code.
If anybody of these people noticed anything unusual, you'd be able to read it somewhere, which would further lead to a huge public outcry.
They definitely know that and will not go that route, because it's really, seriously, bad for business.
There is nothing to worry about, unless you have something other people might worry about. |
