Edited by: Ticondrius on 25/09/2005 19:43:35 Just took me 11 minutes to undock. She cannea take much more capt'n!
For the record, there are over 350 piltos in the system at the moment. Avoid Oursulaert at all costs.

ive been waiting for my ship to warp to a station from stargate... been waiting for 10mins now
360 people in a single system is lethal to a node :x

I'm waiting to warp from one station to another...I suppose there's some kind of warping request queue?

it's the largest market in gallente space, and there's a lot of agents. the market is better than yulai.
there were 370 in local about two hours ago and it wasn't nearly this laggy. now there's like 350 and it takes minutes to undock or warp.

If that's true it sounds like a memory leak on the node for that system =/ _____________________________________

Edited by: D''hara on 25/09/2005 20:10:36 CCP should spread out the agents a little in the souronding systems. That system is just insane atm. Think im gonna move, or start doing missions in low-sec instead.... _______________________________________________

CCP needs to introduce a max pilot cap for systems.
A maximum of 200 pilots possible per system. Allow 50 further pilots to log in.
Or decentralise further. Make Oursulaert harder accessable.

Well those folks that used to inhabit Yulai had to go somewhere. And the largest hub in Gallente space would seem to be a logical place to go.
So CCP can we have our highways back?
And before you make another futile atempt to make people disperse, maybe, perhaps, you could ask the people clogging up the hubs what would make them move.

And then when the day comes that you can't log in because the system is full, and you are about 10 minutes away from a skill change, you will be back here complaining about it.
As for me, I am all of 4 jumps away from Jita, and there are about 6 people here and zero lag. I am sure that is the same situation 4 jumps in any direction from Oursulaert.
Though I agree about the layouts. Choke points need to be further addressed in the near future. But I am sure CCP has some more up their sleves than just the last gate changes to spread people out more. After all, look how long they were working on the 0.0 gate changes and boarder zones. Lets give them time, though I would like to see something on the development section if they have plans. ------

It has more stations than our own capital. It has gobs of good level 1-3 agents. It has belts. It is 2 jumps from 2 major noob systems. It's also only 4 jumps from Yulai. Guess where most of Yulai's manufacturers went to....Oursulaert.
Also..there are "testing" stations in the system that have a 50% refinery, AND labs, AND factories. An industrial pilot's wet dream.
Oursulaert is also on the routes between other major systems in the galaxy.
Why do people congregate in certain systems? The autopilot. If pilots discover they fly through a system often...they will usualy make it their home and make shorter trips to their various locations of activity. The highways are never gone..they just get longer...and longer..and longer...as long as the autopilot keeps giving us the option to choose the shortest route.
Want to break up this trend CCP? Give us several routes between systems that are equidistant...and make the AP pick one at random when choosing a route by the use of "shortest route" option.

Just after retail when very few people did agent missions as agents gave nothing worthwhile.

WTS Charred remains of a Tranquility Node
It was 350 when I was last in there and thankfully I got around without too much lag.

u no having more nodes concentrate on a large group of ppl in a few places is better then having every empire system populated and a node needed for one person every time. Its not like theres just 1 node assigned to every system, the more stress on a part more nodes will go help out.
Having someone in every system would be worse.

I don't think a solar system can be handled by more than one node. That would be real load balancing of course and the ideal situation, but I wonder about what the inter-node communication would imply then. 'Local' chat room has to be divided amoung nodes, actions of a group of players residing on different nodes will cause inter-node traffic, etc...
Having multiple nodes handle one system would certainly solve the 'crowded system' problem, but the network has to be able to handle the extra messages then in a very short time, so you don't just move the lag to somewhere else in the cluster.

Grieftastic!

You don't get it, do you? It's the attempts to "decentralise" which are centralising markets. You can't use a negative stick to spread markets out, ffs.

hmm. I'm omw there, or was I gues thnx for the heads up.
Peronaly I think the main issue with Ours is that it has ALOT of good agents of levels up to 4. Combat agents make a large portion of those, these causing the well known gate spawns, Seeing several spawns of different levels at the same gate is not unusual.
Moving the agents gets my vote as solution attempt
