everything else is getting specialised are we gonna see one of these ?
with bonuses to range and cycle time, would prob need to hit out at 20km to make it worth the trouble

He likes to sit in a battleship only fitted with factions smartbombs and surprise all frigates that want a piece of him.
This is not a hijack

sounds like a cool idea.. warp in on top of a frig fleet and blast away..
However with something like that you'd be able to COMPLETELY shut down a gate to traffic warping to and from it..
pretty powerfull wouldnt you say??
It would need a trade off like not being able to warp, jump or activate a cloak for 5 minutes after activating its smart bombs..

Same goes for Dreadnoughts, and that sure isn't changing the fact that they rock.

You really think dreads are useless in empire space?

I have to disagree, there are ways to effectively use smartbombs in Empire (if you wish to gank smaller ships and pods warping to gate at 15 just sit there and wait so they warp on top of you).
But 0.0 seems a lot better place to use them especially when u deploy a bubble

Off Topic!
Has anyone ever lured Concord to a .5 (close to a low sec corridor) and beat the crap out of the initial responders? And managed to escape with most of their own fleet intact?
Yes I've been known to Target, Sling and serve up large portions of fecal matter.

How is that possible? You'd get locked out of the jump gate for shooting at CONCORD. Then, while you were waiting for the lockout period to end, the second wave would show up. And you'd have to fight them, too.
At least I think that's how it would happen.

Was it dukath that was flying the bombathron when Phoenix Alliance decided to do one final attack with dozens of frigates, and decided to attack that megathron that wasn't near any of those other ships that were mining...
I wish I had been there. It must've been beyond hilarious. ---

Not to mention that you would get the banstick if you survived, since the GMS's classify "surviving CONCORD" as a HAXPLOIT ---

Ya its possible in a 0.7 and below to survive concord, but its considered an exploit to do so. As of such i wont mention how to do it, and deny any experiance in the matter.
Back to topic...
Who cares about Empire, empire blows! live in 0.0 and smart bomb stuff! hurrah!
Of course, if this ship ever comes into existance... you know its gonna get whined to death. Why? cause its gonna be gate campers ship of choice, and with 20km range its gonna work damn well. _______________________________________________

LOL @ the idea of a "siege mode" bombship. Could work tho but they'd probably have a constraint that you can't enter siege mode within 5km of a gate or station. |

Smartbomb ship - has a special ability to disable its smartbombs if, not doing so would result in a sec hit and concordokken...

attacking another player (0.5 or higher) and surviving is an exploit, killing concord and escaping (as far as i know) isn't.

I used to use a raven with 8 300dmg SB's, all cap rechargers, all wcs to bomb the hed-gp corridor and northern catch corridor during the xetic war. it was fun getting a mail from a inty pilot going "WTF was that?" after I blew their insta'ing inty and popped their pod. Havent tried it since the cold war patch since the discovery of the warp bubble "feature" to draw ppl to it.

If it had a sucky tank, sure. Otherwise, we'd get people using them for no-brainer lvl4 mission pawners. 20km range = kill every non-BS spawn there is in a few cycles, BS in a few more if you get them in range. :| ___________ Nero Scuro's alt, until thursday Saturday when I can pay my damn credit card bill. He got many kills. Everything was peachy until one day while in empire he hit ctrl-f1 and missed the ctrl, key at a gate. So, he just decided to go out blazing and took out all the concord ships and the billboard (his story). He could do something like 3000 damage per cycle or something.
He also liked to fit his domi with nothing but NOS's and use drones, that one was fun to watch as well. Domi was the only ship he would ever use and he did all kinds of stuff with it. Made one helluva miner actually too.
[[Originally by: Mangus Thermopyle I thought EVE would require dedication and long term planning. I could never dream that the third ship I piloted would be the end of the line.]]
