Hi Guys, I'd like to set up POS (http://eve.1019.net/pos/index.php?ct=03&mod=0H0H040404&off=). Usual setup is to connect 3 silos to pos (2 ingredients/1 product - sth like this: http://www.eve-guides.com/poss/simplereaction.php) But... can i do the same but with 2 reactors? |

You can get 6 silos and 2 simple reactors. You cannot fit 2 complex reactors.
http://eve.1019.net/pos/index.php use this to test out pos plans. |

Well... you could, if you wanted to be a POS slave.
2x Complex arrays = 6000 6x coupling arrays = 930 and you'd still have 570 cpu left for ECM / hardners. not unusual for reaction towers.
You would have to refill and empty the CA's twice daily if you were making carbides, and more often (~every 6 hrs) if you made sylramic fibers or fullerides.
Refilling towers weekly is bad enough, this proposed setup would burn me out by mid-week! |

The trouble is, silos can only have one input and one out put. You can't have a silo feeding two different reactors, or two different reactors dumping to a single silo. Seems dumb, but that's the way CCP programmed it.
You CAN have a simple and a complex reactor in the same POS. This works particularly well if the simple reaction output gets fed as an input to the complex. Don't forget to put a coupling array in between.

Thank you for adding to my nightmares. |

doesn't the simple reactor put out twice the amount the complex reactor needs? Not that it really matters if the simple reactor is consuming mined low ends for the cheaper side of the reaction, but still you would lose a lot of the simple reatcor output. |

you should and can have an intermediate storage. For a crystalline carbide tower, I used to run:
harvesting array: hydrocarb + harvesting array: silicates goes to simple array & silo: carbon polymer plus another silo: crystallite alloy goes to complex array & silo: crystallite carbides.
2x 500 1500 + 500 500 3000 + 500
leaves 500 for defenses.
