dudes...i saw one post that mande sense back there...
CCP does need all the help it can get, not just a load of nerds whining about how they lost 2-3hrs of eve playing time....
it cost next to nothing to play per month...besides, go outside, get some fresh air and stop behaving like spoilt children...your skin needs sunlight...
either that or play WoW for a bit...
geez...

Anari! i can`t agree more. And i cant understand all this complaining, think of all time that this people work just so you neards can have fun with all the whining every time there is a problem. Grow up people, and salute the people that work hard to get the server back up working. so you can still play the best Online Game there is.

I believe the people moaning will be those people causing downtime.
Cluster problems is related to the servers letting say '1000 people on in the first 10 mins' and so....everyone is rushing on the server and causing them to go down again! You just dont realise it. Calm down and dont pile on the server as its just started up!
Also RE : free day petition. I asked about this before, I got a quick reply that in the T&C (most people may not have read), it states that CCP keep the servers running as BEST as they can or time will be given back.
Calm down complainers, do something else, and stop making a new thread for the same complaint!! YARRR!!! |

Indeed you would expect that, and btw it's not that precious eve playing time that i need, but having the ability to train skills That would be a nice idea, being able to change skills on the site at the character login :) So when servers are down you could still be able to change skill, but probably that would need the game server up and running.
Well ccp keep up the good work,i'm sure you will get the problem fixed in time, before i have to go to bed and miss almost 20h of skill training "El Chingon" |

i guess this is the worst time for a server faliure,, but as a 6mth player getting used to it now, its the having to interact with my family thats really annoying,,, i hope its back up soon, before i renew my vows,, i hope the new mini patch goes just as well as this one,, that way i will have been offline for nearly a month out of 6

I had been enjoying this game for quite a while, but why is it that the problems always seem to happen at the weekend, and always affect the people who are close to GMT. If they moved downtime forward by 12 hours every month, it would make most of these problems easier to swallow. I have never been credited for any game loss.......Who do i need to ask then.......I never get a response from them?

Could it be down to the fact that at the weekend we get in excess of 14k people logged in at once? Just a thought . I remember back at the begining we used to get problems with 4k people logging in. It's not something that happens all the time, and CCP usually get to the bottom of it pretty quickly.

I totally agree Anaris! I've been playing this game since July 2003. Every time there was a problem ccp fixed it and if it took a long time to fix it they compensate players for it(extra day). This 1 of the best games ever to be created(in my humble opinion). Give the guys of CCP a break, they work 24 hours a day to keep this game up so cut them some slack and stop whining!!!!!!!!

agreed. Keep up the good job CCP.
I have played a few games myself and till now I have yet to see a developper act this fast towards it's community. Trying every day to ensure we have a good time. On top they always give out information, explaining what happened, some might take that for granted but believe me when I say that this is a very rare thing. It's just another example how involved CCP is with the community.
So instead of whining like babies, try to support them. At least I will, because I know they are working their butts off to get it all back up and running when something goes wrong. And let's face it people, there is no such thing as guaranteed gameplay, technical errors are just part of a 23/7, constantly updating and evolving game. So just bear it out.
This kinda reminds me of the people whining about bugs within new patches, without even bothering to test new patches out and help finding bugs. Or even better, without even filing bug reports... but this is another question and not at hand atm.
In short: (once again) keep up the good work CCP. There are still people supporting you eventhough you might not always hear them as loud as the "others".

Huh?
You guys must be CCP employees... to defend this crappy performance.
And get a load of this from the propaganda page: "9/11/2005 8:46:56 PM 15.000 Peak Concurrent Users
This evening, EVE players raised their own Peak Concurrent User record to 15.203. Congratulations everyone! This was an truly amazing moment, yada yada...
I guess it is amazing that 15,000 people managed to get on for a little while! Meantime, I've been trying to get on for about five hours and can't. Usually the number reads a little under 10,000 while I try and get dumped, try and get dumped. I guess this means that 1/3 of the paying subscribers are not getting what they paid for.
I believe that people who pay for a service have a right to complain when the provider fails to provide it - and I wouldn't call it whining like babies. Eve fans are incredibly loyal, read "addicted", but at some point they may stop trying to log on. Better for CCP that they hear this feedback than total silence as everyone walks away.
Forget the shiny new content and please give us some reliability. 15,000 people can create their own drama as they interact.

It seems like last Sunday's server problems stirred up the hornet's nest pretty bad, so I feel the need to pitch in my own 0.02 ISK (first one to contact me in-game gets them, BTW).
First of all, I find it odd that on a day where the game performance is not to it's usual good standards, we still manage to log in with more than 15,000, breaking a record, at the same time (I say "we", 'cause I had to arrange a few minor matters in-game as well), so it must've been not THAT bad if everyone flocks to the game like a herd of lemmings. That or we all have a masochistic streak, no offence intended.
Second, and most importantly, I recall reading that CCP only provides the contents, i.e. the game EVE Online, and that the servers upon which the game is hosted are in the capable hands of a different company, so you should complain to them, and not to CCP. (Please note, I'm not too sure about this, so don't sue me, or destroy my ship/pod in-game if I'm wrong. Pretty please with sugar on top?)
Last, and maybe least important, for me it's actually good that I can't play EVE Online once in a while. It's so addictive that I tend to forget that there are still other things that I can/have to do.
Thank you for the attention.
Signed,
Elah'n'matir

Why should people stop moaning? Another day, another patch... and like the past 3 patches that EVE has had, I need to re-install a full build to get the thing off the ground. Not to mention the other issues that I've had.
I've not intented to start a flame war, but ffs this is taking the "proverbial".
CCP, you have made THE greatest MMORPG that I've played, but i would seriously consider re-training your script kiddies, they are frankly the worst i've seen. |
