In EVE there are tasks which us players have to go through regularly. Some that are recent, some that have been around since the very beginning. Some of these tasks may have you pull out your hair from frustration. Not all developers actually play and use the systems they design, so they may lack the intuitive insight needed to build a proper system.
I would personally love to have a dev take 200+ corp bpos, lock them down. Then unlock them a few days later. To the brave dev that actually sits down and goes through with this. I will Paypal you money for a pint on me. (Dead serious) *You have to do this as a player, you can't use any of your dev tools. When you're done, I'd like you to share your thoughts on the entire process.
So, what horrible player task would you like to have a Dev experience?

He would quit his job and run for the hills!
The lockdown system IS a mess. I still can't get some BPOs to unlock. Can't vote as the vote buttons don't exist half the time, so it defaults to no (and have all the roles to ensure I can vote).
UI here isn't 3 screens per BPO per unlock, it's a simple button that says "UNLOCK" (or "LOCK") to send the request vote out.

The Setup: You're watching a target warp off to a celestial. There are at least 4 brackets spaced fairly closely together in the direction he has gone, but each one could be distinctly selected by even a moderately palsy-afflicted player.
The Task: Mouse-over the correct bracket and try to pick out the name of it from the now suddenly vertical and *random* list of all brackets in the vicinity.
I find that without a good mob to provide one for them, most people would have no mentality at all. |

Honestly if I had to sit down and list every bit of menial tedious bullshit someone has to do just to eek out an hour of fun in this game we'd take weeks compiling it.
Which would make the whole thing an exercise in irony I guess. |

I can imagine, 5 is bad, 10 must be a nightmare. The whole Science & Industry interface is terrible, and could do with being streamlined.

If I'm trying to warp away from some gate camp, I purposely pick a celestial that fits that criteria for that specific reason. We don't need to make the gate camp easier for the cowards.

I would not ask them to suffer. I would just ask them to explain how come I can remote control PI from anywhere, but I can not modify my market orders? Or ask for a remote view of a market I have already paid a broker to handle.
I am not asking for access to universal remote trade, I am specifically referring to orders already active.

While they are at it, attempt to give a new player access to run jobs in a lab without giving him access to everything and with no random side effects from random corp roles.

I dare you devs, i double dare you ....To do serious scale invention and tech 2 manufacturing for month. Lets see how fast your corporate issue mouse wears out and how fast you realize it needs fixing ingame too... Bonus points if you also realise how **** current POS and corporate role system is when it comes to securely delegate access... Wait until you have a pile of BPOs.
The locking and unlocking is stuff nightmares are made of -- 3 screens per BPO, ever single freaking time ANY BPO is added or removed. One freaking day to lock or unlock.
Then let's not even address the Science+Industry UI, and the wonderful let's try to find the item you built between all the hangers and your own hanger while the assets take their slow ass time to update.

Grab a large stack of modules (mostly of the same type). Next, fit them all, in full-rack cycles, to the ship with the largest number of slots of that type.
When that's done, select all the items, along with some you didn't fit, and try to sell them.
Repeat this until you can't remember why you decided repackaging and the lack of a "fit all" button should be things. Stealth OST puns and blatant lies since 2009 Jace Errata on Twitter

And make at least 1 in 6 planets a factory planet, while always making sure that the output is worth more than the input. The post that got me banned from Eve-Uni: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=210049&find=unread |

To be fair, Grendell, you should take up the challenge that the Devs face. For example, plow through the 56+ pages of the most recent "little things" thread (see https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=167795 ). Your task: separate the posted ideas from the trolls and the discussion, then organize the ideas, then rate them as to difficulty and desirability. Finally, create a "sales pitch" (for management) listing the ideas most worthy of pursuit (in rank order) along with cumulative effort (so management can draw a "cut line" at some point).
