I'm a UK player, I just about get used to the clocks going forward/backward with respect to downtime, and then the clocks change again.
Was wondering why there had been such a huge downtime until I remembered british summer time. |

Should just call it daylight saving time in the UK.
After the last few summers calling it "British Summer Time" is frankly taking the ****. |

No, there's no point defining a season for rain in the UK because it's a 365-day cycle. 366 in leap years.

Summer/winter time is an outdated concept. It causes more trouble than it's worth because lighting is so cheap these days and the need to stay synchronized with people in other timezones is more important than ever. The government needs to nerf summer/winter time. - |

I have no idea why we change the clocks - stick with GMT/UTC in this region all year round.
If people work in a specific industry where it matters and want darker mornings & lighter evenings then simply start work an hour earlier in the Summer and finish an hour earlier too.

nerf nerf nerf, damn it, enough already.
Governments need to BUFF time with extra minutes per hour (so it seems like I'm actually getting some sleep when i play EVe too long at night) and a new hour called "DarkAsHell O'clock" (between midnight and 1am). NO MORe NERFS.

We did, it's called decimalisation, we can still use the old imperial measurements, but they have to be used alongside kilograms and grams for it to be legal. Even our fuel is sold by the litre these days.

Even our fuel is sold by the litre these days. Indeed. The only people that use Imperial seriously these days are old British people (who don't like change) and those in the US (who like to be different just for the sake of being different). |

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I hate the clocks going forward an hour, I'd much rather stay on UTC/GMT all year round. Especially in the middle of summer (ha) when it's still light at 11pm and I'm trying to sleep..

Nope, a day would remain the same. Only the the hours/minutes/seconds would change to fit the period of a full revolution, and then 365 revolutions would still equate to one full orbit. We would even still have leap years. Nothing would change except an hour and its gradients would become longer. You don't scare me. I've been to Jita. |

I'd rather like to keep my feet thank you very much.
How on earth would I be able to go to the toilet or leave my parents basement to go get more Cheetos if I didn't have some form of basic walking and balancing equipment on the end of my legs?
Maybe this is why Oscar Pistorius is a world famous athlete and marksman, and not the leader of a massive nullsec alliance in EvE. Maybe he just plays WoW instead? |

The depressing thing is that (for this part of the Midlands) March, April and May are statistically the driest months of the year.
Oh and yes we still have snow in some shady corners - hardly surprising given overnight minimum air temp of -3C and minimum ground temp of -7.5C.

Amusingly you are pretty close to the mark.
1-4 June is phase 1 of the European Summer Monsoon*; 10-14 June is phase 2; 18-27 June is phase 3.
That's why June is always so crappy in the UK.
