Well I started last patch doing my missions even though I could be hunting in zero sec etcą I wanted to catch up on my agent missionsą everything was working fine, though the bonuses never come, I didnĘt mind that at least you get the missions and get new agents etc.. I got about 43 missions with my first agent and I got about 6 other agents some good lvl 2Ęs and some really good lvl 1Ęs
Anyway the patch comes iną I do missions everything is fineą I get offered missioną I look at the time no I cant do itą so I do what I always do just DO NOTHING to the offered mission as it will just expire and later on you will get new missioną
GUESS WHAT? I log on the next day look, oh I have a offered mission, hmm it looks to be the same exact one as I leftą so I said what hell ill do it anyway some times you get same mission 2x in a rową. So I accept and undock then I get email right after that, that I have failed the mission my time is UP???
Wow nice way to screw things upą auto failed is what I call it as you have no way of stopping this and you get this automatically after you accept a missioną
SO it seems agents got screwed when they were at least workingą and now I have to quit doing them till the next patch MAYBE fixes it.
Only way to keep on doing missionsą accept them right away and do them, DO not talk to your AGENT after you have finished your other missioną because you will get an offered mission and well if you donĘt like it or want to do one of your many other agents you will get a FAILED mission next time you come back to that agent.

Did you check your journal for active missions. You may find the "new" mission you accepted is in fact registered as active.
I think the email is a red herring bug (i've seen it before) which is generated when you don't actually accept a mission but ignore it (i.e. don't reject it either)

gee thx for that tip but i know what active and offered is... and i know what i did, and it is a bug just go try it for your self its what 2nd day just about after patch so not many ppl probably have run into this problem yet.
I did and i know its a bug, and besides the fact that missions are not 100% working already like missing data's when killing the pirate etc...
i can live with some missing things but when the major parts of the missions dont work right at all that bugs me a lot, it pretty much would stop you from effectivly doing agents... as you cant leave a mission that is offered to you or else once you return to that agent you would get a mission failed...
not sure if the problem is with removing the expired missions or a glitch that gives you failed mission... its one of them or both...
i think it should be simple thing to test out and find the problem and have fix...

the point is i didnt accept nore ignore it... after X time when i logged on back the mission which i think should have expired over that time... was still there so i accepted the mission and went on to do it, right when i did that and undocked got email saying i failed mission from my agent and then i check and ya i do have a failed mission.
if you dont think that this is a bug go try it out your self.
talk to an agent... get a mission offered dont accept wait until the mission period expires see if mission is there if it is accept it and see for your self, if you get mission failed saying that you ran out of time.

If this is the same bug (which has been around for a while - well before 1128), offered missions which have not been accepted still time out and send a mission failed email. However, they do not "normally" register as a failed mission with your agent. Hence the failed missions value (in agent info) does not increment.
If the above is different from what you are reporting then it is potentially a different bug ... although it may also just be a coincidence of timings on the acceptance and timeout of the offering. I'm guessing the mission failure is a client/ server synchronisation event, and as such may be susceptible to timing issues like this. i.e. even though the timer on the mission was 2 hrs (for e.g.), if you log off and return the next day it is only after you log in that it sync's with the server and determines that the timer has expired.
When this happened to me the timer for the offered mission had already expired (i.e. failed mission email already sent) by the time I accepted the mission the second time it was offered. This didn't generate any problems. I suspect in your case it may be that you accepted the second offer *before* the client/ server sync had failed the first one, giving an overlap..
Just as an aside - if a kill mission doesn't generate a data sheet the workaround is to buy one on the market. Not ideal but it does prevent a failed mission...
This should probably be moved to the patch review forum (mods ) where it will get greater visibility to the devs ...

This happened to me also, except l didn't even have him offer it to me. If you talk to the agent but don't go as far as clicking "I need work" then look up the agents info, you can see what's going to be offered in there and then via the journal in full. I thought l was being oh so clever this way as l didn't even have to reject anything l didn't like..and pow failure registered by mail next day and a recorded fail with the agent.

Gan Howorth, this is exactly what im tryin to say...
there going to have so many people soon find out that If you JUST TALK to the agent you get a mission offered and then you have no choice to EITHER do it or you will get it as failed.
i think this needs to be fixed fast : they will have to fill out and do a lot of petitions...
and i think that they should put up a warning etc... until they fix it...
save them more work and less ****ed off eve players. support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

just wait like 6-8h? or whatever is the longest mission time... and you will see more ppl going what hell?
oh i forgot to say this... you can keep doing missions BUT if you dont want a new offered mission...
DO NOT click on DONE after you finish... just close the agent etc... and that will stop you from getting new offered mission.
so you are pretty much stuck to either keep on doing the missoins and make sure you dont get an offered one or just dont DO ANYTHING with the AGENTS! support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

OK this is definitely new (and confirmed)
Probably compounded by the other bug as well ...
I've posted a write up in the patch review forum in case this doesn't get moved

also i wrote a a petition and the answer was they cant remove failed missions... or any missions i think.
So watch out ppl.
if you get a mission finish it and make sure NOT to click on the "DONE" button just CLOSE the agent screen... that will not generate any new missions and DO not talk to the AGENT AGAIN.
only way i know to avoid this. support Idea: QuickInfo an alternative to ShowInfo

I had a mission early on in Duripant, which asked me to kill 10 drones and collect the training certificates. For every ten I killed I would get 4k ISK. Well, I got 10 and handed them in for my 4K reward. Then, when the 4 hr time limit was up I got a mission failed mail. Thing is, it's not on my record that I've failed the mission, and the same thing has haapened about 5 times when I've done the same mission. Which is my next point, I'm not being offered a new mission by this agent, but the same one is getting offered over and over again :-( Any ideas? F.

I had the same bug but in my case it conmpletely wasted my chars standings to reset most of them back to 2.0, including my 10.0 standing with the Caldari Faction. --- soonÖ |

I now have two faild missions. I talked to agent, not asked for work, then looked at offered missions in Journal. I decided I didn't want the mission, so I closed the agent window. Two hours later I recieved eve-mail from my agent saying the time expired.
