Hello there everyone, I just wanted to start by saying that EVE's community has been some of the best people I have across in my time gaming in MMO's. The first MMO I ever expierenced was Star Wars Galaxies and it has been a great 14 years or so since, so that carries some weight that you guys have been my vote for number 1 !
I have loved everything about EVE so far, the sandbox feel to it, the rewards for being bad, the abilties to play your own game around whatever it is that interests you. With that being said I have a problem I encountered and I have to ask and rely upon the knowledge from you awesome piliots!
The only time I have to play EVE at the moment is a very few select hours I can carve out here and there, and since ISK making is not generally the most fun you can have in EVE I have been encoutering an issue. My daughter currently is battling a serious medical issue.
With myself and my wife both working overtime to try and keep up with the medical bills, paying for EVE monthly is not an option as spending any money for our own hobbies has been removed from the table. I decided to try and pay for EVE by earning plex, but since I only have limited play time and COMBAT is pretty much all I know atm I cannot feasably earn the amount of ISK to play monthly, and it is not that enjoyable to constantly isk grind.
A very nice person in game donated my first PLEX to me on my 12th day of my trial, so I owe all my expierence to him, but I want to be clear that I am NOT ASKING FOR ISK OR MONEY OR PLEX
I am just looking for someone who makes good isk doing the following : Trading // Contracting // Sales /// Transporting /// Crafting /// Indy
I am asking for someone to take me under their wing a bit and teach me some techniques and ways to earn ISK by using the market or contracts or some way for me to earn the isk I need, and I would appreciate it greatly, the best I can do in return is give you a % of my earnings each week for teaching me your techniques, something I would not mind doing at all. I just wanted to say thank you in advance for anyone who even took the time to read, and think about helping.
Thank you so much guys. |

Train trading skills for a start, if you haven't.
Pick a type of trading you like..Station Trading wouldn't be a bad way to start off. Afterwhich you can try going between regions or from within a region (ie putting jump range on your buy orders).
Research whatever it is you are considering to trade..( I generally look for consistent volume and prices by looking at the price History tab in the market window)
Diversify - Trading a lot of a few items will work, but it will be slow, and you will feel the effects of someone crashing the market of your chosen goods more heavily, than if you buy a few of many items.
Basically look for things people use (lose) frequently.
Pay attention to size of the item you're interested in, if you're not station trading or using couriers. If you invest in 50 units of item 'x' which has a volume of 500m3 and a profit of ..100k ISK per unit , instead of item 'y' with a volume of 50m3 and a profit of 50k isk per unit you may find that item 'y' would have been a better choice since you can carry more.
Pick a location to trade..I prefer smaller hubs..
I've been trading fairly successfully for 3 or 4 months, so I am still learning too..I hope I've been able to help..perhaps more experienced folk will jump in and straighten somethings I've said, and add some.
Trading is easier than you'd think. I thought it would be more of a challenge. Basically keep in mind that you're trying to take advantage of the lazy players. |

Maybe if you dressed a little "flashier" at the office, people would be more inclined to help you. A little make-up wouldn't hurt either. |

Taking everything into account I think the easiest way to "play for free" err keep your account plexed up is still running level 4 combat missions.

Income from missions is predictable but requires a lot of active playtime and doesn't scale well with your available capital.
Trading is a bit less predictable (but if your time horizon is "I need to be able to afford a PLEX within the next 30 days" and not "I have one hour of playtime and I want to log off richer than I logged on" that should hardly matter), can be made to accomodate both low and high amounts of active play and scales reasonably well (just make sure you actually build capital).
With missions earning your monthly PLEX for the 20th time will take you almost as long as it did the first time. With trading it should become considerably easier as you build up capital. TEST alt - don't trust. |

L4 missions are now a pretty bad way to earn ISK, with long startup time, moving around and whatsnot.
They are still very cool for those who have time on their hands and don't want to "brainstorm" into something more effective like i.e. trading.
@Lithic Auduin
1) Train trading skills to 4. 2) Move to Amarr / Dodixie / Rens in decreasing priority (Jita is a bit advanced). 3) In your market window enter this in the search box:
" II" (Space plus two capital i)
4) Look in the price history of one of the results and see if it has a volume of 250+ a day (500 for Jita). Avoid anything that has less than such volume. 5) Buy it from buy orders, flip and sell on sell orders.
That's it, you can get more than head started just by doing this trivial setup. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Their kind of relaxing in their own way, helps me wind down from long days, 1-2 hours and I feel like doing something else ingame.

If you're for real then I would think long and hard before you start down the path of shuffling goods on the market instead of just giving EVE up until you have the time. The reason I say this is because this game is a sneaky devil and it will easily come to consume much more of your time than you ever anticipated, given your circumstances I cannot stress it any more that you think hard about it.
You can always come back to it later.
