Hey everyone, I figured before I attempted to re-invent the wheel, I would ask if there was a wheel invented in the first place.
I've been looking at the various spreadsheets created for PI, and I haven't really found one that does what I'm looking for.
Does anyone know of a spreadsheet created where you can enter the amount of P1 resources you have and have the spreadsheet tell you exactly how many advanced / tech factories are needed to process from P1-P4 in a 24 hour period?
I can absolutely create the series of formulas myself, but if such a sheet exists already, it would be great to use that one instead. |

This is what you're looking for. It has everything except their current market prices. It's one of the best PI spreadsheets out there.
(Jita) Planetary Production for Eve Online by Wyke Mossari is the 2nd best spread sheet out there, but it is specific to the market data then actual PI data.
Really though its just best to remember 3000 -> 20 P1 40 P1 + 40 P1 = 20 P2 10 P2 + 10P2 = 3 P3 (or 10 P2 + 10 P2 + 10 P2 = 3 P3) 6 P3 + 6 P3 + (6 P3 or 40 P1) = 1 P4
2 basic factories (P1) to feed 1 advanced (P2) 4 basic factories (P1) to feed 2 advanced (P2) to feed 1 advanced factory (P3)
And for most P4s (from P1 -> P4) its 16 advanced factories (P2) feeding 4 advanced factories (P3) to feed 1 High-tech. |

Hey, thanks for the reply!
I had looked at that first spreadsheet, and it doesn't seem to calculate anything... There is absolutely a wealth of information, but I don't see any place where it's taking a number input and then manipulating the data to give you information based on what you entered. If I'm missing that completely, I'd appreciate having that pointed out.
To reiterate, I'm looking for a sheet where I can enter different amounts of P1 resources and have the spreadsheet tell me how many advanced and hi-tech factories are required to process it all from P1 - P4 within 24 hours. |

This version (I'm guessing their is an updated version) only gives the values for P4 mats and POS fuel. Its a bit hard to understand but once you figure it out it makes sense.
You will need to look under the schematic book (bottom of the page), and scroll down to a P4 schematic. Under each of these it will display how much of each material you need, and how long it takes to make. For for Nano factories you will see all the P0 requirements. Below the schematic you will see 5u P2 <= 160u P1 =x8 (1800s)20u P1 <=min 12000 units R (P0)(in 1800s).
Basically this is displaying the amount of time to manufacture each P1 - P4 item, how many units is required to manufacture each tier item, and how many items of the next tier are needed.

Styth is right tho, it's kindergarten math to calculate what you need. Lets give it a try ok?
1 P4 needs (#?) P1 for 24h:
- P4 needs 6x P3 (1h)
- 3x P3 need 10x P2 (1h)
- *6x P3 would then need 20x P2 (1h)
- 5x P2 need 40 P1 (1h)
- *20x P2 would then need 160 P1 (1h)
This simple math example tells us that a P4 needs 160 P1 per hour. All of this info can be accessed by clicking the "Production Info" of any PI material.
"How many Basic Processors do I need then?" Clicking on a basic processor will state that it produces 20 units of P1 in 30 min(*40 units in 60 min).
So you either wait 4h to get 160 units of P1 or build 4x Basic Processors to make that amount in one hour.
But if you rly dislike Math then use this: Link Processor Production:
- Basic: 40 units /1h
- Advance: 5 units /1h (*P2)
- Advance: 3 units /1h (*P3)
- High-Tech: 1 unit /1h

Yep, I know it's simple math. I was just looking for a series of formulas written in Excel that would let me type in any number of P0 and have it calculate immediately on down the line to P4 and tell me how many factories are needed in the process.
I'll go back and look at what Styth is referring to. While I was waiting for another reply, I went ahead and wrote out the formulas in Excel, so I can now enter in how much P0 I take in during a 24 hour period and have it tell me how many factories I need on down the line to the final P4 production. Thanks to both of you for the assistance! |

In my experience I have found it difficult to be precise. I run 24 hour cycles and the fluctuation in P1 I get from my extracting planets to give to my factory planet changes on a daily basis. There is a rough amount but going from P1 to P2 I have found fluctuates by 2-3 factories a day. I have since shifted my methods and set a static amount of P2 factories and load up the launchpad with a static amount of materials. If I have extras I just bring the P1 to the hangar, if I don't have enough then that is fine as well. So far I am just stocking all the P1, I may just dump to the market at some point as I have at this point maxed out my planets and don't really easily have a way to convert the excess. |
