Hi @ll!
I'm a newbie in this game and a big Fan from the old wellknown ELITE. So it is my way too to trade with Goods. The problem is, that I make 660.000 ISK with mining and now i think it is time to change the ship an begin to trade. But I don't know with witch ship i should start and wich Goods are Good for a beginner to trade?Do i need really a MOA or Osprey to Trade Goods without danger. Thanks to everybody for giving me tipps to start with trading in this wonderfull game. :)
Greetings Chuck

I started trading with a probe and about 1 million. You can make a profit on anything but how much depends on what you buy. Just make sure you check the supply and demand tabs of the advanced market. Generally the more expensive the goods are, the more profit you make.

I think the trading is the best part in this game.

Hail Ship Captain,
To trade safely is not necessarily to have fun in the game. But of course, different strokes for different folks.
Empire space is pretty much as safe as you can get with fair opportunities for a beginning trader. With the Concorde patrols keeping the pirates at bay, I'd focus your eye on an Indy ship.
The best indy for the beginning trader is most often an Amarr Bestower. It is unique in it's ability to develop along with you and is best suited to safe empire space.
As you begin to expand your operations, you will want to add a second indy to your fleet. For 'hot' areas I'd recommend you lean towards a Caldari Badger Mark II. It sports fine shields that will give you the fraction of a second more time to get out of a no-win situation.

Windwalker, or anyone,
What is the Amarr Industrial Skill level required for the Bestower? I looked on Taggart and looks all you need is lvl 1, but that couldn't be right could it?
Just wondering what it was. I had thought it was lvl 3 at one time. But not for sure now.
Thanks...

The bestower or badger are good choices to start with, though an Osprey is a decent trade ship too. When fully loaded with expanders, the Osprey can hold almost 750 m/3 of goods, which is about 1/3 of a small indy. Throw in the fact that you can also mount afterburners, weapons, and a shield booster, and 400 m/3 of drones, and its more than capable of defending itself just about anywhere youd want to go (though I wouldnt recommend trying to run a PC pirate blockade in it).

The bestower is level 1. Since you gain 5% cargo space per level training to level 3 or 4 seems like a good idea. |

Thanks, Jarjar.
That makes more sense now when you added the 5% per level increase.

Hail Private Idaho,
The Amarr have taken great pains to make the pod control mechanics so intuitive that with basic adaptation of Amarr Frigate piloting skills will make you immediately comfortable at the helm of the Bestower.
With just level 1 Amarr Industrial piloting skill you can begin your career with an excellent ship. Of course you will want to increase your knowledge as soon as possible to really enjoy the advantages the Bestower can offer. ____________________ Keep your hands on your isk and your eyes on your six

Jarjar? Since when do you get a 5% bonus on cargo per indy level you train??
First i've heard of it...?
Because Eve is still in its early stages there is only the basic Indy's available, i believe the plan eventually is to introduce bigger ships (i.e. indies included) that will obviously need higher levels of skills to pilot around...

The special ability of the Bestower is 5% extra cargo per level of Amarr Industrial. Configured for cargo is getting close to mind numbing volumes.
The Iteron V is the best one out there, but as value for money and as a starter->mid level ship the Bestower is very difficult to beat for pure cargo shifting power.

Gone2mars,
I have to agree with Jarjar and the others. I bought a Bestower last night and added the 19.6% expanders (4) along with Amarr Industrial Level 2 and got the cargo hold up to 7500+ m3. Don't ask me how, as I still can't figure out how I got it that high. But it is.
So all the advice and information provided here was a great help to me. I love my Bestower now. With 2 AB's, Shield Booster and EM Ward hardner, and a XecL Mining Beam I am set to go.
Thanks all for your help...

Any time =)
I would suggest everybody spending 340k isk to buy amarr frig and amarr indy. Level indy up to 1 so you are able to fly a bestower, who knows when you might need to run out real quick, pick one up for 400k to transport a really sweet deal in trade goods you found on the market. It takes about a day to train. ------------------- Basic truths? Idiots make us rich. - Some people are only alive because it is illegal to kill them. |
