Hello,
Noticed all this selling of faction ammo, Do i understand correct that when you use faction crystals the crystal damages itself?
How many 'runs' do you get out of a crystal? And isit the same for Radio, Multi-Freq etc? Is there anyway to repair crystals.

if it do damage to itselv, then I bet there is 1000shots in it...or something like that, and I realy hope you cant repair them

ive looted a dark blod small radio s and havent noticed any deteriation after useing it i dont think voltity is imlimented yet as its on of the stats on the normal crystals as well

it want to be implemented soon, you bloody Amarr have had it easy for too long. My named antimatter run out, i have to buy more, only fair that you guys need to replace it too.

well we only got 2 dmg types and our gns eat lots of cap... just fair we got an advatage on another field to compensate a little...
furthermore from what i heard faction ammo drops a lot more often than faction crystals, might be just misinformation or a rumor though

If you want to talk about turrets on their own then purely look at the stats which will show you that lasers are the most cap hungry guns in the game...
If you want to drag ship bonuses into the discussion then you have to look at EVERTHING as a whole, including tracking, range, dmg output, fittings, cost of ships, drones, speed, slot layout, most likely pvp ranges, npc tactics.... snore....
There are plenty of flame fest threads like that already...

And obviously you should think two seconds before flaming, because he's right...in part.
I don't see what the cost of ships or speed/drones.. have anything to do with it, but most, if not every, Amarr ship has one bonus reducing the cap usage of lasers. That means that hybrids use more cap when you have your amarr ship skill trained to 5, but it also mean that, for all intents and purposes, Amarr ships have only one real ship bonus.

You get one crystal that only usefull for one gun when you get a faction crystal.
When you get ammo, you get a stack of 1000 which you can load into a full rack of guns.
Get a faction ammo set - go into combat with a full rack of guns doing 20% more damage
Get a faction crystal - go into combat with 1 gun doing 20% more damage
You have to get up to 8 crystals to equal one ammo set drop.
I'm pretty sure 1000 Arch Angel EMP would last a while in a 1400 II tempest...

Precisely correct. The detractors fail to take into consideration the downsides to lasers.
Oh yea, if you buy 8000 rounds of faction ammo and get blown up, odds are you only lost part of it. Buy 8 faction lenses and get blown up and you lost all of it.
Even if you bought the lenses @ 3m a piece (which is WAY lower than what they have been going for) and get popped you just lost 24m in ammo alone.

Point with faction ammo is that they cost a lot more, and unless you do something stupid the crystals won't ever run out. It'll take a while, but I don't doubt that you can easily make up the money the faction crystals cost in a weeks PvE compared to faction ammo.
Best way to do it is to make a mining-crystal-like deteriation (with approximatly enough chance for 1000 shots) and then simply drop them as often as faction ammo. This is atleast something they'll have to do with T2 ammo, otherwise loosing a T2 ammo fitted ship will be extremely expensive if flying a laser ship (either that, or we'll see a lot more laser ships after T2 ammo comes out). -- If TC causes you discomfort that you feel is unwarranted or may be outside TC's current contract - contact me, please.

We need up to 8 ammo drops or spend what, 90mil on crytals. Ofc, it's not like people are going to be selling a full set 8 crystal set so you'll have to enter a load of auctions and spend lots of time finding sellers ________________________________________________________

the damage inflicted over an extended ammount of time for faction crystals is better though i might even go as far as saying unlimited where as the faction ammo you need more and more loot drops to keep that damage up it all ads up over an extended ammount of time i belive faction crystlas are cheeper untill that volitilty gets implimented anyhoo

as far as I understand, even if crystals will get damaged over time, you will be able to repair them in stations

another idea about the crystals howabout they met into an unseable state then you have to reprocess them for the orignal minerls need to make them in the fist place then you just remake with the approiapate bpc This approach also lets you just shoot at random belt roids melt your crystal reprocess it and make a crystal that is of more use to you only real investment is time and a bpc in that approach

If lenses can be repaired, then please let all us ammo users 'repair' our amo stacks as well so we can also keep that extra 10% damage indeffenetely. and if you need it for balance then to the following: - make the ammo stacks non stackable and allow us to load only one gun from a stack. - make the stack size as it is now, but the ammout of rounds in it unlimmited, until lense damage is implemented. - if lenses are repaireble, then make the stacks replennesheble in a repair station - make the drop tables equal do this and prices will ajust automaticly.

umm mabe i didnt explain my ida right
Basically one the crystal is used up it melts or transmutes into an unseable state but it can be refined for i higher yeild than the actual useable crystal
you can then use this to make a new crystal not necalary the same crystal either
This way faction crystals can only be used to fire the same ammount of rounds as faction ammo the cost to renew the ammo is still quite low (cost of bpc and a bit of time and factory cost) and if you dont want to make another crystal you get something for your trobles
