Originally by: Gabriel Karade Secondly with Dual 1000mm Railguns it does 20% less damage than the Amarr Dreadnought with Beams, 12% less that the Matari Dreadnought with Artillery/Citadel torps and 18% less than the Caldari Dreadnought.
I suppose the fact that Dual 1000mm Railguns having 20% more range and 50% more falloff then Dual Gigabeams means squat right :|
Anyway, 30 or 35 drones pretty much means nothing smaller then a BS can get near a Moros without being promptly removed. You can use drones against cruisers and frigs without any worry of them dying. Also, don't forget that you can hold 40 drones so you can still replace up to 5-10 dead drones... ________________________________________________________

You're all assuming that people are going to train Dread skill to level 5. What is it? Rank 14? How long will that take? 6 months?

First paragraph: No it doesn't unless a) it puts the Moros 350km or more from the Control Tower or b) it puts the Naglfar/Amarr-thingy closer to the CT than 100km.
Second paragraph: do you not think it was intended by the Devs to make the Gallente Dread quite bad at sieging but really awesome in fending off pesky defenders out to get it? It's a trade off. What do you want if you're in a fleet: Moros or Naglfar? I'd pick Naglfar because it does so much more damage to the Control Tower. What do you want if you are in a tactical assault group: Moros or Naglfar? I'd pick the Moros cause it can defend itself if need be. It's basically this question: Would you choose a Dominix (renowned as one of the nastiest 1v1 ships in game) or a long range Gankageddon? The Gankageddon! You want RANGE and you want INSTANT DAMAGE. When attacking stations you want DAMAGE, NOT defence. The defence will be handled by others. -- If TC causes you discomfort that you feel is unwarranted or may be outside TC's current contract - contact me, please.

Someone wrote level 5 for Dread was about 3 million SP, that means it's going to take a Gallente Gallente, Civier, Amarr Amarr, or Brutor (and possibly Sebiestior and Deteis) about 2 months with dedicated skill training. But you also need about 2 more months to actually fly the dreads acceptably (dread guns and repairers as well as Adv. Spaceship Com.) -- If TC causes you discomfort that you feel is unwarranted or may be outside TC's current contract - contact me, please.

Originally by: Nyphur The caldari dreadnought clearly has an advantage over the gallente one when in siege mode against NPCs so I don't know what everyone is complaining about the Gallente dreadnought's 35 drones for.
And you clearly have NO clue what you're talking about. Siege mode reduces the explosion velocity of citadel torpedoes to less than 10 m/s. Even freighters are immune to their damage with that explosion velocity.

10m/s? kinda weird but i was shooting em on the test server and they were travling alot faster than that, they were also hitting me for about 3000-4000 damage. So it looks like you dont know what your talknig about... And also the other dreads DO HAVE drone space so they can also use them to kill rats.

Let me spell it out for you one letter at a time. E X P L O S I O N V E L O C I T Y. That's not the same thing as travel speed. Explosion velocity is the number that's compared to the speed of the target; if target speed > 3*EV, the missile does less than 5% of its base damage.
