If you check the market you'll find extra keycards for sale. It'd be a shame to fail the mission just because of that. Can you get some friends to help?

I didnt read the whole thread but i'm sure this was mentioned earlier
You dont have to kill thoes protecting spawns, you are even recomended not too, you ONLY have to shot down the npc building that is mentioned in the journal (wich has very low hp so it goes down very fast) and you are finished, killing thoes spawns would bring in some very nice cash though My Sig:

Would you say that 2 sentry guns that can kill an AF (with correct damage types tanked) in 30 secs and a reduce a Amarrian BC to 50% armor with 3 volleys (which struck from over 80km away) would be out of place for a level 2?
Theres a Blood Raider mission like this, 4 part arc... Thankfully I've only ever got it the once...

I rather much enjoy killing everything in the last area in my raven.
Originally by: HippoKing my osprey tanks a deimos, a megathron and 2 geddons in the right circumstances
those circumstances include a lot of civilian railguns....

i love the last 10/10 of the angel strike. Its clear a bit hard for a lvl 3. but its fun .. call in a corp m8 and its even more fun.
i think the last stage was designed to just pop tower and run.. or stay and have a kill fest.
its one of the most fun lvl 3 ive done.
i like them to be more often tho . :P -------------------------------------------->

Man i hate that mission, lost my Rvane in it, killed the tower, big ones came for me, and i got stuck on the "building" that was cealrly not there and died, never seen a BS go down that fast. :) And the fact that i just had looted a 40mill implent from the building ruins did not help (was gone in blowup)

I love this mission and only got it once, i want it more the last part is best done with other players to help you if you choose to take on the BS's.
This mission dont need a nerf some of the mission runners mind sets need a recoding though.

I'm doing it right now with my Brutix. But just got popped in Angle Strike - Kidnapping (3/10). Scrambled by a mercenary wingman and then finished off. The most annoying thing is that i slowly cleared out the whole place then i got popped with only an elite frig and the main target remaining Btw i was in a 6x250mm sniper setup. I think i'll switch to a full rack of ions and tank for the next missions...

The final mission isnt that hard. If you read the description it says that there is going to be impossible odds at the end. But you dont have to kill them at all. I think they do need to reword the description as I ended up thinking I had to pick up the girl and ended up panicking with two battleship squadrons bearing down on me and no woman in the can from the station.
All you have to do is kill the tower and iirc it is not that long to take it down. Yes I use a dominix, but it is only fitted with 5 medium guns. I killed the small group by the objective, then killed blew it. Didnt even get hit by the two battleship groups.
Its just a scary mission thats all but if done properly is fine. Keep your cool and you will get the bonus fine. _______

I grabbed some corp mates and we all made out like bandits killing those BSs. first time any of us got action like that. with a little team work we were able to take them all out with frigs. and now we dont fear big missions.. I love that mission and think we need more like it.

Well just finished it and it was well worth losing a Brutix meanwhile. It's really an awesome storyline mission. The last stage was very easy. I just killed the guarding cruisers and frigs. Then i aligned to warp, sent the drones first to attack the tower then i started shooting as well. The tower went down very quickly and when i warped out nothing even touched me, although Brutix doesn't warp fast. Got a +3 int implant from the tower and +5% projectile hardwiring from mission reward. Not to mention the couple millions in bounties/rewards. Oh and my stading jumped from 3,80+ to 5,40+ . So i've instantly gained acces to max quality lvl 3 agents and low q lvl 4. I definitely look forward to getting this storyline mission again

Had this mission 4 times now, only ship I've lost was an Enyo to the last section the first time I did it.
Nowadays I run the whole sequence in the Cerb, get to the last mission, kill the annoying little ****'s then align for warp, lock and launch on the tower and warp out. The tower goes pop and you fly away.
Now here's the trick. I havent needed to BM the can once. If I fly back through the gates and get back to 3/3, the blobs dont aggro me. Not had the bottle to try taking on a blob yet, think i'll leave that til I get a handy corpmate with shield transfers or something.

I had this missions last week. The groups of battleships were way off to either side and didn't aggro on me. I snuck up to the control tower (dispatching as small group) and only when I attacked the control tower did I get blasted but the 10 battleships. I killed the tower, grabbed the loot and warped out. My apocalypse got pounded so bad I took hull damage but that was because I started shooting the tower from about 10K away and I am slow. If I had snuck up to 2K I would have been fine. The girl died but I got a +3 WP implant. Woo hoo!!
Would do it again... and smarter. If the BS are aggroing on you immediately then it's bugged.

really enjoyed part 10, did it in raven fitetd for speed (afterbuner & 2 Local Overdrives), warped in, got range and started popping the bs's.
Didnt take a single hp of damage.
nice bounties and nice implants at the end.
Tip - Kill eveything BEFORE you kill the tower.

Edited by: Abbadon on 01/02/2006 16:47:54 We had some fun on part 10:
Apoc setup as a tank: 8 x heavy beam 2, 4 x cap charger 2s, 2 lge rep 2s, 2 x kin hard, 2 x therm hards, 1 x cap relay. Apoc2 setup for max damage, Tach 2s etc Domi setup for max damage, lotsa drones etc
Apoc warps in and aggros the Scorpion spawn ( can tank forever) Apoc2 and Domi punish them severely Rinse and repeat for Raven Spawn and finally the cruiser spawn at tower.
took about an hour in total and well worth the bounties.
The Apoc tank could have probably been able to solo the whole thing without warp-out but it would have taken a good while .

I just finished this mission in a Brutix, and I want to say it was very fun to do despite the fact that it was spawned in Old Man Star and it took me three days to do the whole series because I had to abort a few times due to overwhelming PC pirate presence.
The only thing that was a bit confusing was the resolution. Since I was forewarned I had my drones shoot at the hub first and immediately warped out when it was gone. Without careful examination of the mission orders I might have thought I was supposed to look for the girl, which would have been a bit tricky then. Also, the agent only said "Thanks, bye" after the mission was done, nothing about finding her elsewhere and all. I know the mission says "If you don't find her, get the hell out of there", but in the beginning the agent is sure she is there. I'd suggest wording the mission briefing a bit differently so you do not try to search the lost girl in the various cans. Also, the resolution should be a bit more verbose than "Thanks" - thanks for what? I did not find the girl .
Overall, I liked this a lot. It had the right feel of anxiety for an important mission, and felt kinda "epic" too - much more than the "Hey, the Damsel has been kidnapped YET AGAIN".
Conclusion: Thanks, I enjoyed it a lot.
Now, where is my brownnosing reward?

Just completed this one solo in my caracal...well nearly solo. My setup lets me play with the 8 odd battleships that are in the last spawn... i can get them down to armor but can't break the tank :( Got a corp mate in a crow to pick up the loot while I distracted the BS's Now I'm refining my skills to do some more damage :) Hope I get this one again :D

I finished a Guristas Strike last night. Yeah the finale is quite a treat. Luckily I had a buddy and a BS handy. Cant complain though, the Core Complex gave me a Ocular Basic, granted, the 9 mission leading up to it were cake and gave nothing but civilian gear.

A few friends and myself did this mission the other day. We came across the 8xBS and stuff. if only we knew that they didnt need to be taken out. Oh well, in the end we finished it. We lost a Ferox and a Raven in the process (first time my friend had used it). Was good fun though and inspired us to try some level 4's.

Did this a week ago solo. L3 version
Killed the spawn guarding the cathedral, looted the cathedral (got a 100mil implant). The 8 BSs didn't even damage me as I was warping out.

Read the final message from the agent... she was never at the temple-place thingy.
And for the record, I helped my brother on this one (Angel Strike 10/10) and I could solo both spawns in my Cerb. Took a long time, but the BS's never fired cruise missiles (like they used to / should).

Cruise missiles? They were all hurling torps at my poor Apoc.
