Wow Meridius, you did an incredible job on that one. That would have to be the best use of the in game camera Ive ever seen. Id have to say you make movies almost as well as you fly intercepters =D ---------------------

Very nice!
I wonder how many of the people that start playing because they saw that video that are going to make Amarr characters (100%?)... ;)

Excellent excellent camera work. I had this nagging suspicion that you spoke with CCP and got the "smooth camera" parameters from them which they used for their Exodus trailer!

This has to be the coolest video I have ever seen of EVE. It doesn't even make the game look boring in the least bit.

A very pretty display of pyrotechnics.
The camera angles were certainly good in places, but many were just the generic 'let's rotate around the ship/show lots of lasers bouncing off eachother's hull' shots. The filters certainly smoothed the rough edges, giving a nice 'bloom' effect, but made the peripherals rather fuzzy.
In general - it could have done with being a lot shorter, and the odd moment of calm or dramatic build-up would have been much appreciated. Granted the editing was on top of things, but surely after watching about two minutes of yet another Zealot destroying something you thought enough was enough? I get the distinct impression that this is a rather messy sandwich, whereupon the maker has gunned straight for the juicy filling and forgotten to add the bread to keep everything in place.
Just one query - how many times did you go to see Episode III?

Once, is that a vain attempt at an insult?
I happen to like John Williams compositions a lot and it had nothing to do with the movie (which i thought was appalling on the non visual end of things). ________________________________________________________

An insult? More like a criticism. I was merely highlighting the fact that your video is very much of the same ilk, with as many action and FX shots crammed into as little space as possible. It's slick, but after the initial dazzling array it becomes somewhat tedious, with one longing for something a little bit more substantial.
You mention vanity, yet surely this movie itself is an effort in vanity - where almost nothing has been left on the editing floor. The over-gratuitous scenes of things blowing up may be a spectacle of light and sound, but that's all it is. If you watch it without the volume switched on it almost becomes p0rnographic.

Edited by: Jonkai on 28/06/2005 10:40:57 Cr*cking capture and camera work, and very well put together. Big thumbs up Meridius, if people watch that and don't start playing EVE then they never will :)
CCP should seriously start using some of these top notch videos for advertising.

epic.
I'm a sucker for drama (I keep trying to get Wildcard to add even more to his cgi based work in progress), and this satisfied my need admirably.
For drama, epic feel and simply stunning use of Eve graphic in maybe the best fraps based work I've seen ever, I am gonna argue for a medium pulse laser boost for ya
No, seriously, awesome. Keep this spirit going, I've seen enough attempts at action packed fraps movies, and it simply wont take off like this does.
