So we now have the ability to nuke dust bunnies from orbit. I for one was really looking forward to griefing those poor bastards... and then I read the patch notes. It would seem they exist for FW only and they have to request fire. I can't just swoop in with my flashy red ass and start blasting both sides. I feel like I've been trolled by CCP. So far they're only for FW. DUST is still in closed beta, bro. Phrases like "you can't nerf / buff X EVE is a Sandbox" have the same amount of meaning as "If this is a sack of potatoes then you can not carrot." - Alara IonStorm |

You were honestly expecting to be able to just rock up and destroy their game with no warning or consequences?

I watched some of the gameplay on Youtube, after Sony demanded I subsribe to the playstation store for 10 bucks per time period before I was allowed to DL Dust 514 and make use of my Beta Key, I decided it was time to make a Planetside 2 account instead...
Which is funny because that is from Sony as well... There's nothing a million chinese guys can't do cheaper. |

Eventually they will be able to shoot back, and blow your ships out of the sky. Maybe then you can freely rain death down upon them.
Then again maybe not.

I, too am displeased that the EVE player has to be in FW to do the bombarding. I get that its probably the only way to make it so there are "teams" in space so the guys fighting for Gallente contract on the surface can't call in the support in orbit that was there to help the Caldari on the surface, but I also feel that if I have Dusties in my corp, then its pretty clear that I'm on their "team."
In addition, I've stated in many other threads, the mechanic for calling these things in certainly shouldn't be tied to the performance of a team on the surface, so my ass isn't sitting in orbit waiting for a killstreak that might never come. If I'm there, I should be allowed to support when I'm there, with some sort of cool down tied to real time, not a stupid k/d ratio.
Hey, as a dude that lives in lowsec, you should read my idea on how to "fix" it... in Blog format, complete with a spreadsheet! http://3xxxd.blogspot.com/2012/09/how-to-buff-lowsec.html |

requiring capsuleer presence for bombing runs seems more like a limitation to a well-known mechanic, imo. -and- it's nested within FW if you need me, I'll be on youtube watching russian car accident videos |

My understanding is that when Dust is extended out to 0.0, you'll be able to do what you're asking for here.

No, like most folks (including myself) you were hoping for a great new way to wreck carnage upon the universe.
Silly wabbitz !!!
As I said in another thread, this is just the first iteration. No need to throw the baby out with the bathwater... yet.
