Has anyone gotten it to work with Openoffice 2.0? I follow the directions to a T, get to where I need to hit CTRL-G, hit it, and absolutely nothing happens.
I've got java installed, but it seems that somehow the macro just doesn't want to operate. I realize this is a completely different program from excel.. but has anyone gotten this to work with openoffice?

Has anyone gotten this program to work with Excel version 9.0.xxxx ? Obviously the auto-update feature will not work, but can I manually enter my info and still use it? Just wondering before I take the time to do all that.
(This is a work pc and I can't upgrade the Excel version )
Thanx!

You will have to do it all manually (entering the skillpoints for each skill) but when you're done it works like a charm

Just to know.... Is there any possibility that someone could catch your login name and password during the updating of the char data?
Thx

Originally by: Treo Vargas For anyone having problems with the auto-update, you have to use IE. I couldn't get it to work with firefox).
This was one of the best pieces of info for me :) I also had to close down Firefox as well as opening IE.
THis is great. I'm gonna go play with it some more.

Same for me... Got it to work once, but now, no more. Nothing in my config changed, so I'm guessing something changed server-side :-S

when setting goals to all the learning skills up to lvl 5, will it then take into concideration your attrib increase, or will that only show reduces training time after you got the ncrease and update?

After, because a goal is not a certainty. The sheet can't know which skill you'll train first, so your learning speed is based on your current attribs.

Edited by: Gaelron on 30/11/2005 07:01:49 ok...i think something changed that messes up the autoupdater but i figured out how to get it working.
1) Open the EMD excel sheet and go to the "EVE-XML Data" sheet. 2) Select cell "J21"(anyone of the cells from this area work but if you dont know excel well just use "J21") 3) Right click on cell "J21" and choose "Edit Query" from the list.
At this point a new window should open showing you a eve-online.com error message saying something about a "planck bubble stabilizer" issue.
4) At the top of this window you will see an "address" bar and this is what should currently be shown... "http://myeve.eve-online.com/character/xml.asp?characterID=["CHARID","Enter%20Eve%20Character%20ID"]" This is the problem!!!!!From here on out we are just walking through the population of the data now that we have fixed it. 5) Change this to read..."http://myeve.eve-online.com/character/xml.asp?characterID=XXXXXXXXX" leave the " marks out of the excel sheet. 6) Where the "X"'s are in the above step replace them with your CharacterID. 7) CLick the "Import" button in the bottom left of the window.
Ok, now you have the XML Data but it hasnt been distributed across all the sheets.
8) Goto the "Tools" menu in the top menu bar. 9) Choose the "Macro" option and it will open a side menu...choose "Visual Basic Editor" dont worry...this editor window is supposed to open! 10) THere should be a section labled "Project - VBAProject" in the top left of the new editor window. 11) Find and expand the "Modules" folder if it is not already. There should be 3 modules located in this folder named "Module1", "Module2", and "Module3". 12) Double click on "Module2" now there should be alot of text in the main window...DONT CHANGE ANYTHING!! 13) Hit the F5 key and wait until the Hourglass mouse pointer changes to something that is not the Hourglass. 14) Close the Visual Basic Editor. 15) Enjoy...its done.
Sorry if that is complicated, hopefully someone can condense it some and maybe make a real instruction book for it. Or maybe someone knows excel better and can suggest an easier way to do it.
Shoot me an eve-mail if you need any more help.

Ok, what i said up there was wrong... it apparently still doesnt work but I think I might have solved it this time around.
When you open up the sheet, go to Data > Import External Data > New Web Query. That opens up a lil browser, go to the EVE site and login from there, dont import anything, just login. Now you should be able to use the Crtl+G way of auto updating. __________________________________________________

Been smacking my head against the wall trying to get past this problem, finally just need to login via the right click "Edit Query" page, travel to the "character details" page, clicked the link there to show your details in XML and clicking import and suddenly it's all good, even the auto update now works were before it didn't. Before I did this I hit Ctrl+G so many times the 'G' on the key is wearing out now, and it never worked once, now I'm home free.

I love the EVE Master Datasheet. Couldn't live with out it. So when will a new version be available with the new RMR skills? I realize RMR is a little while from coming out, I was just curious the time frame after it comes out for having the fresh spreadsheet in my hands. Sorry for the impatience.

It appears Lachenlaud is gone from the game since September. If anyone is still in contact with him, maybe they have some more info. If he's not coming back, someone else may be inclined to update the EMD?

But, but, but, what will I do without my spreadsheet? This is very distressing news. And if I knew nearly enough about Excel and programming I'd be happy to update, but, well, I don't.

Thanks in advance,
PS Am I supposed to fill all the skills I learned in myself or should the update do that for me? if it should, mine isn't working propery :(
