Once again i have been given a great offer by my agent. Only this time i have to haul some pretty expensive and very illigal goods.
The problem i have to deal with is hauling 8100 slaves from Amarr space to Eram (metro region). Now the slaves are legal in Amarr, but very illigal in the 9 other places i have to pass through.
The trip has to be made in a Hoarder, and it will be done by an alt char of mine. One i normally only use for hauling. He has black market lvl 1, and i dont plan to train it any higher, unless im convinsed by others that its a very good idea.
Now my plan was to buy the slaves, make instas from start place to End place. then get the show on the road. I will have to do atleast two runs.
I had planed to keep the ship free of anything but warp core stabs and mwd's and shielding. I am well avare that shielding wont make any difrence in case i get attaked by cops, but in any case it will prolly be there.
So now my question is. Is this safe to do? i dont mind the fines and the standing loss. The char dosnt have any cash to give and dosnt need standing to do his job normally. So if you have any ideas thoughts or other info i can use please respond.
BUT please dont speculate. I have heard most horror stories there is, and dont need more of those, but if you have a solid idea or way to sort this problem, please let me know. :)

The only info i know for fact is the list of contraband chances to be caught and fines incurred.
This info is all listed under the faction dialoge on one of the tabs. I only stumbled across this recently so i dont know how common this knowledge is
I really dont know of any definate way of getting thru customs with illegal goods but i would have thought a fast ship and instas is the best bet, but if you get any good solution i would like to her it

I use a cloak as soon as i jump into a system, align on the next gate, uncloak, use a BM to insta onto the next gate.
Works fine, every time.

I have about two day sof skil training to do before i can fly the indy ship i need to do the job. And i promise that i will post here, no mater what the end result is going to be.
Right now im going for instas up to the gates, and autopilot for the jumping.
I did the run in a frig last night, with 1 slave in hold. And it worked out very nice. There was customs at all 9 jumps and no other players at 6 jumps, and still i didnt get stopped or scanned.
But in any case i will return with the results in two days

The only thing I managed to do : Create an alt with Black Market Trading in its beginning skills and train it to lvl 5 to gain a 60% chance to get through without problem...
Black Market Trading is not a skill you can buy market, does it mean that CCP still can't find a way to implement illegal goods traffic and keep it at a low level ? I mean, they probably don't want to make illegal goods become as easy to carry as other goods. Or maybe the whole black market system is not already settled... you can't even put escrows on drugs for instance.
I wish they will work on that someday.

My dear CEO, just came up with another idea, i would really love to get your feedback on it though.
Now when a person gets cought at a gate they have to answer to the charge, "will you pay / or die".
Imagine this, 10 people of a corp makes an alt each, they all get a few slaves to put in hold and 300k isk each or something. Then they fly ahead of me as i haul my huge pile of slaves through. They get piched by the concord, and b4 answering any questions they let me pass through gate. Rinse and repeat.
Will it work. there is only so many customs vessels at each gate, so if we spamm them... ??
what do you think?

Well... I just hauled 180 units of slaves from Amarr space to Luminaire, which is three jumps into Gallente space... on autopilot. Nobody stopped me or asked questions. I guess those weren't the slaves they were looking for.
Ship was an Imicus, did it in two trips. Since this is my third day of playing Eve, I can't imagine my factional standings are that amazing. |

So here comes the end result of this little adventure.
expenses of 70M isk in fines, and 5M to ships and cargo, and a standing loss of -0,96 to minmatar repuplic.
what i ended up doing was using an alt char. with black market skill lvl 1 and indy skill lvl 1.
I got fined 10 times, and stopped two times.
When you get cought what happends is concord tries to stop your ship, while they give you the option to do one of two things.
1. say im so sry about this. I didnt mean to get cought, but now it happened you can fine me, confiscate the cargo and give me a standing hit.. just dont kill my ship or me!
2. Say something along the lines of: "Biiiib you pig, you wont get anything from me other than the finger. (/me flips the finger) and then try to outrun them.
Option nr1 is the one you use if they already stoped your ship and have you locked and all is lost.
Option 2 is the one you use when you are already in warp allign fase and at about 98% of the speed you need to warp. But even then its riscky. imo, you answer the question when you see concord leaving in your rear view mirror.
So what prep work did i do?
First i made instas all the way from the station where i got the slaves to the station i was going to need them in. Then i tested those BM's using the indy ship i was going to use for the "mission".
then i made sure i had no isk in wallet and nothing else anywhere concord could take from me. Just in case
Then i started hauling. I could take about 1100 slaves in my wreathe indy ship on each run, so i had to make 8 complete runs, which due to concord turned out to almost 10 runs.
the idea is simple, warp to insta, use autopilot to jump or do it yourself, warp to next insta. rinse and repeat.
Whenever concord catches you, you try to get away with only the fine, the standing hit and them trying to kill you (option 2) if they manage to stop your ship, you confess and take all of the above hits but leave in your ship to get a new load of slaves (option 1).
Thoughts i have done along the way are as follows:
1. Might be a good idea to train some skill to help warp allignment or install items to do the same. It wont free you of any fines, but it might make you safe from getting stopped completely and loosing cargo.
2. Use an alt or be ready to loose alot of isk and standing.
3. Have a friend stand by to help out with new ships and cargo incase you are fined more than you have in wallet (Thank you very much Yellow Lotus). You wont be able to buy anything in station. And using the trade option and escrow will also be shut down untill you pay your fines.
4. make sure the offer is worth oll this trouble and make sure you have a good supply of goods. So you can stand to loose a few shipments.
5. It seems to be safer to travel with illigal goods when there are alot of players online. This might just be a fluke or it might be becasue concord is programmed to scan x number of ships per day/hour/minut or whatever, and the more players online will keep them bussy scanning others when they should have scanned you.
6. Stay alert all the time, keep the best hauling music running at full volume in the background and stay alert even more. Its a matter of 2 seconds that seperates you from getting away or getting away but loosing the cargo.
Thats it from me. I can tell you this adventure has been fun for me, and i want to thank all those that helped and came with ideas and information.
If you feel you have other ideas or need more information from me, feel free to mail me or convo me ingame.
Cya out there Sir Gigaman
