Edited by: JimmySav on 07/05/2005 19:21:42 Edited by: JimmySav on 07/05/2005 19:19:37 Edited by: JimmySav on 07/05/2005 18:36:33 Yesterday, in an audacious raid of 'titanic' proportions, Salvador Sarpati, CEO of Serpentis Corp insinuated a serpentis squad on board a Gallente 'Soulteur' class Titan and took control of the behemoth. Damaged in the escape, the Titan called on Serpentis officers to escort it as it attempted to make its escape to Serpentis Prime, while the Gallente rallied pursuit forces.
Seeing the name of our good friends and fellow curse residents smeared in the news, ATUK and other [5] members sent troops to investigate. Acier and Fabster among others were quick to reach the scene, and began a careful search for the ship.
As reinforcements poured up from the Curse area, the Titan was spotted making its break for freedom and the edge of empire, in the vicinty of the Alperaute System. Guiding the Serpentis fleet to the aid of the titan was Tuvan Orth, close personal friend and business asociate of JimmySav, and often his partner in the little known and mainly illegal game of 'slave golf', a pastime involving, slaves, drugs, and occasionally golf. Contact was established and the initial Curse forces plunged into the fray as the Titan attempted to blast through the denizens of empire who were desperate to stop it. Maybe it was a loyalty to empire which drove them forward against the monster ship, or maybe it was the 1.2 Billion ISK bounty the federation had placed on Mr Sarpati's head.
The battles raged from Poitot onwards to the edge of empire as the titan made agonisingly slow progress forward. http://www.atuk.org/dev/mediashow.php?id=72

Edited by: JimmySav on 07/05/2005 19:22:57 [5] members were in for a shock however, as the by now power crazed Sarpati, instead of thanking them for their efforts, threatened to turn his guns on them, as they "were no longer needed".
Knowing what awaited the Serpentis CEO further along the route to Foutain, and Serpentis Prime, the fleet dropped back to allow him to revel in the power of the vast ship. Not, however before some of their ships had been vaporised by Serpentis officers.
The Northern Alliances were determined to claim the bounty on Sarpati's head and set up blocking fleets in UAY and JKJ and various other systems, and threw themselves either heroically, or lemming like, against the hull of the great ship. The Titans shields were slowly beginning to fold under the withering firepower of over 100 ships, and Sarpati came to his senses, as his shield levels approached 25%.
Tuvan Orth, himself visciously engaged, and with a 500 Million ISK bounty on his head managed to communicate with JimmySav one last time, before a lucky capsuleer claimed his bounty. His call meant the [5] were back in action. The chase was on... could the titan be saved?
Trapped in JKJ with a split fleet, things looked bleak. A stream of frigates were gunned down en route, as the price of tourism in dangerous areas was illustrated. The fleet returned to Ovolle to refit and collect stragglers then headed once more into space, towards the Titans last known destination.
Northern forces had been flung into combat against the Titan and serpentis fleet and were rapidly succeeding in draining the remaining shields, and only heroic intervention by the vastly outnumbered [5] forces turned the tide to earn the titan much needed breathing space. [5] pilots displayed wanton courage and an epic battle was fought involving over 225 people, split between Serpentis, [5] and Northern Forces. This degenerated into a huge running battle as the titan sought refuge in Serpentis Prime, and the Northern fleet harried and were harried by [5] forces. Many pilots had ships destroyed from under them, only to return to base and re-enter the fray in newly aquired ships. http://www.atuk.org/dev/mediashow.php?id=76
Casualties were mounting and so mercenary reinforcements were called in by Lallante; Seleene, representing Mercenary Coalition aided by RIP corp promised reinforcements.
Arriving in the nick of time, these ships allowed [5] to keep fighting, as our frigate pilots displayed exemplary flying skills. Special mentions must go to Azon, Antoinette, Lokan and Thomdrill among others while Eternal Dark showed cool leadership. Northern forces refused to give in, and the battles raged over the route of 12 systems. The escape attempt had been running for over 12 hours now, and the ragged pilots were determined to see it through to the end.
Eventually the constant pressure and blockading of [5] forces enabled the by now battered titan to return to Serpentis Prime, intact.
The gallente had been humiliated. The Residents of curse had once again faced overwhelming odds together to show the galaxy that togther they could achieve any objective.
A grateful Sarpati rewarded his assistants, and in the spirit of the 2 yr anniversatry celebrations of ATUK [and indeed EVE!] the Rewards will be auctioned off shortly, to be shared among the pilots who were comitted to thedefence of the Serpentis Corporation.
[OOC] I would like to thank all who took part for such a fun event. The only down side is im still knackered now, after such an epic marathon! Good job all, CCP and all EVE crew.
Please use this thread to post any links of cool screeenies you got or other information etc...

Was awesome fun for over 12 hours non stop working from the early afternoon to the break of sunlight protecting the titan and overcoming absolutely overwhelming odds.
Thanks to every single pilot involved friend or foe for making the night what it was.
Special thanks to ATUK, Black Re1gn, Shinra, Supremacy, The Mercenary Coalition, Rip and all other corps i have forgotten to mention, there is no chance anybody could have achieved what we did was it not for the support of others.
Screenies will follow, wewt. ___

I shudder to think of the sick-minded graverobbers who looted that entire field. How many corpses were disturbed by their shameless looting? That entire system should be turned into a sentry-gun protected graveyard.

Edited by: Seleene on 07/05/2005 21:10:45 The Mercenary Coalition was pleased to move our fleet forward and assist in this undertaking. We took great pleasure in flying with many pilots whom before last night we knew only by reputation and inviting them to share our communications network for the duration of the operation. It was truly a historic gathering of some of the most skilled pilots in the galaxy and a memorable series of battles.

We look forward to seeing how Gallente President Foiritan will spin this incident in light of the upcomming elections. -

I think it's made it plain who are enemies of civilisation and who are not, despite any other differences we may have.

me <3 jimmy
It was an awesome night. Props to everyone who flew with us, you guys did a great job and have earned my utmost respect. When our the remains of our small fleet jumped back into orvolle at about 5am et, roughly after 10 hours of fighting, it was still hard to realise what we achieved with teamwork against all odds. It was once more proven that numbers dont decide about the end of a battle.
I¦d love to fly again with all of you, although I dont think that there will ever be a fleet again with this constellation of players.

Ya know, I think it'd make sense form an RP point-of-view for the Gallente Federation to set 5ive and MC to -10 for aiding a known criminal. Oh, and the fact that I'd laugh for a week.

And it would also make sense that we would get +10 with serpentis.
And I will most definatly take +10 with serpentis.

Edited by: anister on 08/05/2005 02:54:45 As promised:
The Escort begins
The Serpentis change their minds about our assistance and one of them decides to go aggro on us, they lose a vindicator
Facing insurmountable odds the Serpentis re-establish communications and request backup
"Buckle up boys, this is about to get hairy..."
With forces as large as this the odds seem stacked against Salvador Sarpati
After the death toll has risen above a huge number the Titan and Escort break free of JKJ and continue the journey to Serpentis Prime
I just cannot fit an RP caption around this one:
Flying in formation with TQ's first Titan. Wow.

One point of consideration - we in the MC do indeed follow what's happening regarding the political landscapes within EVE. We have watched the unfolding Galente elections with a keen interest. However we don't have the time to affect change by collecting vouchers and all that other stuff like a more 'peaceful' organization might be.
When the oppertunity to possibly harm the current president's campaign arose by embarrasing his government's inept security measures arose, we were not the only people who took an interest in this. We were allowed, though force of arms, to affect real change in the galaxy.
We would be curious to know...
What of the current President's opposition in the election? What do the people of the current President think of him now after this catastrophic failure of security?
I'd personally be curious to know what the 'common man' of the Federation might be thinking about thier government at this time, etc... -
