Shouldn't this thread realy read "Why People rather stay in 0.5 or higher"?
It would be interesting to know the proportions of mining/industrial chars and PvP'rs/Pirate chars.
I know for a fact that any trip into less than 0.5 is not fun in an industrial!

I hope agents (besides research agents) never, ever come to 0.0 space.
Perfidy!

I honestly don't get you peope who says 0.0 is to hard to get into. Honestly the only time i've every been ganked is when I knowingly took a chance or was trying to get a gank my self. If I'm trying to avoid a fight its so easy to get away. Its so easy to get away in 0.0 all it takes is some patience and common sence

Edited by: Maxine Stirner on 23/05/2005 20:09:37 0.0 is not hard to get into. Provided no one is there usually. However, the sniper gank tactic is too effective compared to the low effort and risk it requires.
Why does it make such tremendous sense that players with slow large turrets can vaporize other players in frigs instantly at 150km, but I can barely hurt npcs with my guns at 5km? Why is it just as quick to lock onto a target 5km away as 150km away?
Using instas, it is currently easier to warp through a gate camp rather than out of it, which is screwed up. I have jumped through countless gate camps in an industrial, and lost many frigates and clones to a mere pair of BS 150km off when trying to jump out of gate cloak. The situation is backwards and a regression since the invention of gate cloak; and if you can't see that, it can only be concluded that you are struggling very hard to shove your head up your own arse.

I'll probably never go into 0.0 space because:
a) It's strange and new to me, and there's no way that I'm aware of to get used to it without being shot up.
b) All I ever hear about is people getting ganked in 0.0, my mental image of the place is basically a huge mass of pirates waiting to kill anyone who comes near.
c) There's no sense of "Oh, let me help you with that" that I can see out there. This ties into (b), the only stories I hear are bad ones.
If all I hear about it out there is bad things, and as far as I know I can't get out there to verify this without getting shot up the first chokepoint I reach... Well, I enjoy mining solo or in teams, I don't enjoy PvP. Empire for me, thanks ;) *-----------------------* Press to test... *click* Release to detonate... |

Originally by: sukio "so stop using expensive equipment. go to 0.0 and use a cheap frig, insure it, and no loss. Rolling Eyes"
this statement is an example that the prats "assume" we want to do the same thing they want to do, in effect sink to their level which in nearly all cases is not the case.
besides to be on par with most of these "prats" we would have to make a pure PVP template charactor and do almost nothing else and PVP is not what I play this game for.
I play for the chalange of doing business and exploring in eve.
The bigest reasons I DO NOT go into 0,0 areas is the risk to non PVP people is way too high and the potential for loss is far too great
you cant move haulers out there, you might as well be cattle in a slauterhouse so whats the point in going out there if your gonna just get GANKED!
and trying to use small ships while cuts your risk slightly it also makes it NOT worth the risk.
I like to play casualy which includes AFK mining and AFK traveling.
besides theres nothing out in the 0,0 land that I havent seen in the empire same clouds, suns, planets, moons BORING!
Im not sure what is the best way to fix this but pirates have it too easy and the penalties for podkilling is far too light usually if you kill a rat hes only in a PVP frigate which is easily replaced there needs to be concord hunter fleets to respond to camping.
also you need to have a way that an escourt ship can help defend a hauler its pointless to have even a titan escourting a hauler because the PRATS can target very quickly and just blow the hauler out from under the titan.
ships are too fragile and die in seconds you feel raped and violated which is far from a fun feeling.
people like to have some control over their destony and they like to have the freedom to enjoy the game with out other players takeing that fun away.
Sumed up a lot of my feelings there.
