Are we ever going to get full character recustomization?
Its only after several months of play that I finally realize that my favourite fantasy girl has a jaw that is alittle too manly for my tastes. It bugs me so bad.
I can shoot lightning. I can end the lives of many. I possess the wealth of nations. But I cannot have a little cosmetic surgery.
Now of course I don't expect this service to be free, maybe for a price of a plex? |

Full character recustomization has never been a feature in EVE and i don't think it ever will be. At least not for free.
What we had in the past was due to bugs or character creator engine change.
Perhaps who knows.. we might have a cosmetic surgery estabilishment in the future ^^ Sometimes the only difference between a budding genius and a blooming idiot is where they chose to take a stand. |

not 100% true we did (before the new avatars) have the portrait swap where you could change the look of a character as much as possible within the confines of the bloodline. this did cost real money to do.
but I personally would like the option to change some body structure, as I have a feeling that my character may not look as good when walking around as I initially thought. (thin face)

We can dream.
It is funny though that we, in Eve, have the technology to live in space, create clones, build futuristic weapons of mass destruction, explore wormholes, and travel at warp speed, yet somewhere along the line we just totally forgot about plastic surgery. |

I could use a little butt reduction myself.
The character creator is pretty basic right now. Better than it was at launch, though. So far we have had a remake with each update. I'd like to think it will be improved even more and we get another shot at recustomization. |

Well. This is an alt. My main is so hideous I dare not link her.
Also while an avatar may look nice in a portrait, captains quarters are another thing entirely. Your avatar may not turn out the same in incarna content as it does in the character creator.
My main has a terrible brow ridge, so while I am not a sims-in-space fangirl, I'd rather not hear people sniggering about the cro-magnon chick as I pass by on an errand. |

The UI framework is all there, I highly doubt it would be difficult to implement - although a restriction to bloodlines would be expected. Though technically, if they were to describe it to be 'Cosmetic Surgery', there should be nothing preventing a Caldari changing their appearance to that of a Gallente...

The horror... The horror... Exactly. One thing that still annoys me is that the new bloodlines in no way resemble the old ones. I still want a bloodline change for ISK or PLEX or whatever so I can be a Sebiestor. I picked my character's bloodline because wanted to look like a spanish/latin girl with big eyes, this is quite impossible with the new Vherokior looks.
I feel cheated and I find it quite rude to be forced something upon me without any discussion or options to change it. One big flaw in the new character creating thing imo. |

Would be willing to pay obscene amounts of money to be able to swap bloodlines/race/whatever. How was I to know a year ago that all Amaarian men are, as a rule, old and grotesque? Where was that in the race description? Why didn't they forewarn me of the epic ugliness and bad skin? My character has the body of a greek god and the head of an old man.
I found the customization depressingly limiting. Like I was constantly being forced into a box. I thought maybe my imagination and artistic skills were simply lacking, as usual, until I got into the game and realised that all Amaarian men really do look the same. |

Let's not get derailed by FiS > WiS
We play the game largely because of FiS TBH. WiS is part of the entire SF experience but the core game is still FiS.

There is a reason why smiling avatars are so rare. I think my smile came out nice and my avatar is pretty and sexy :D Though i wouldn't mind some boob and ass reduction >_<, maybe add a bit more weight aswell she looks so damn thin >_> but if its about the face I'm really satisfied, Also EVE prolly has best char creation tool in any game i tried. The ability to manually change the structure is really impressive do not know any other game that did it. Oh...well, apparently they do still honor full re-customizations, but it's only a one time thing so if you've asked for one before then that's a no for you the second time.
I finally got my body to human/non-pornstar proportions so that's a plus. Also changed some minor facial stuff too, but I would think it would be literally impossible to tell the difference without a side by a side of my older avatar.
So yeah, go ahead and ask away I guess. That said, please be polite about it when asking. For some reason, I just felt I needed to add this as I feel someone out there will come, read the above, and, thru some magical power, get into a fight with a GM lol |

I'm going to say that's a nicely done sardonic/sarcastic smirk rather than a genuine smile of mirth (maybe just me) but its a great look nonetheless.
Eve has hands down the best character creator thus far. However the avaliable content tends to be limited as one poster pointed out before. Invariably, it is easy to tell at a glance what bloodline your character comes from. Bloodline traits are so apparent (narrow eyes of the Vherokior females, wide cheek bones of the Achura) that it comes across as a little unnatural. It is like every other Achura chick is a half-sister or a aunt and niece by my grandfather and a aunt.
Perhaps its the limited gene pool because of racial and political segregation and fact that Eve had not many to start out with. Still its unnerving to be cousins with everyone in my bloodline.

You do not get to resculpt (facial structure) your avatar for every jump clone. Instead you simply reset your cosmetic customizations (make-up, hair etc) to one prior to your current look.
Note that however it does not change your portrait unless you perform a recustomization, meaning its possible to wear NeX items without them actually being equipped on your character (items are returned to your assets when you clone jump). |
