"Frieghter I" requires Jump Drive 4, Industry 5 and Energy Management 5 ?
Apart from the Nav 5, Science 5 AND Warp Driive Operations 5 just to start training Jump Drive skill ...
Do you really want to haul that much ? An not open your cargo in space ?
Pretty ships, pretty models, pity you'll never see one in <= 0,4 space. Handling = crap (turn like a turbo slug), checking cargo in space = no no (can't open cargo in space ... WTF ?), and using Megacyte to charge/load a jump drive is totally out of this world !
"10m¦ of Megacyte are required to activate the module", OMG !!
Serious "WTF ?" on the test server atm ! -- Intergalactic Teeth Pullers "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." Albert Einstein |

6, 2 more than a Mammoth ( same as a Iteron Mk V ), I only have Minny Indy to lvl 5 so it't the only one I can fly.
My Iteron skills = like ZERO
As everyone thought, race industrial 5 IS required, but that's no real surprise. -- Intergalactic Teeth Pullers "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." Albert Einstein |

If it can still use stargates as normal then it's not such a big deal.
Using a jumpdrive confers a significant advantage so it should be one that costs ALOT to ensure it's only used when neccesary and not just because somone feels like using it.

When going to a gate and trying to jump I got the message "Your ship has too much mass for the gate to accelerate, jump to next system is not possible."
Screw that, 10m¦ mega per jump ?? I hope that CCP got it wrong by a percentage point, otherwise it's going to be a serious "nice to have" in my hangar on TQ -- Intergalactic Teeth Pullers "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." No it is not a money sink. Money sinks require the ISK to be given to NPC's, and last I checked NPC's don't sell large quantities of Megacyte.
I would say this is meant to stop people using one to run up and down the highways dumping huge quantities of goods. --------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Arimas Talasko on 01/04/2005 03:08:34 I hope it's like, "Amarr Freighter I" as opposed to a multi-purpose "Freighter" skill. The way they did Battlecruiser and Destroyer are kinda strange.
K Nevermind, just read the above post. Bummer.

Jaabaa, stop spreading lies around the forums. The Freighter skill is not on Sisi. Freighters are not on Sisi. You have never flown one, and you just pulled the 10m^3 Megacyte figure out of your ass.
Please stop spreading these lies around. Mods, will you please lock this thread?

Edited by: Ardor on 01/04/2005 03:23:34 10m¦ = 1000 megacyte.
With a price of 5000 isk for mega that is 5m for each jump.
This seems to be to much. On the other hand time is money... I can not say if this price is justified. I havent tested this. How far can it jump?
I would prefer if jumpdrives would consume some kind of fuel instead of minerals, though. It would be easier to balance (price, availability, required cargo space) if things dont go the way the devs assumed.
edit: hrmpf 01.04. good one

Yepp, you can go +1 system/level for "Jump Drive Operation", base looks like it's 1, so 2 systems at level 1, 6 systems at level 5.
See what I said above, I think that the requirements missed a decimal point somewhere, otherwise they are just "not viable", another isk sink -- Intergalactic Teeth Pullers "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." Albert Einstein |

Sure, isk sinks are good.. if they are worth it. For a ship that carries 100,000m^3 it's NOT worth it. Maybe if you could use it to haul ore from far away belts, it might be. But as it is only a station-to-station.. it's use is very limited. You won't even be able to use it for large scale trading operations, as it would simply be not cost effective.
It'd be funny if the devs overnerfed yet another new thing, like they did with POS, like they did with support cruisers.
I hate to be on the bad side of frieghters.. maybe these stats are only temporary and will get changed for the better
EDIT: maybe it is April Fools after all? heh

why would it use mega hmm 10m/3 that cost /me gets pin and paper 4,500,000 a jump at mega prices i last seen wow :/ what use is there for a frieghter really :/ now i can see it using station full from ice that would make more sence.

lol it was clearly a joke because EVE states things required for playing in units not m¦. So it would have been: 1,000 units of Megacyte. Good one.

Good one
The first thing that was strange to me was the thing about not being able to use stargates since it had been stated elsewhere by someone (a player I think) that they will be able to use gates. However, I didn't realize that it was april fools until someone pointed it out

Well, it sounded pretty feasible and quite balanced to me tbh
Except of coruse that these arent titans but oversized haulers. They'll be using gates allright. _______________________________________________

5 Mill is not bad for a jump to any sector. Clone warping some characters that can use this ship costs 18+ million. Jump drives 4tw! I hope they let us put players in escape pods in these things. It would be funny if one exploded in transit and a certain percent of escape pods were destroyed. 0.o It's not you... no wait it is you. |

is rocketfuel good for anything within eve - perhaps some ships should require it for fuel if not ( i think its sold on POS isnt it to help them running)
