i wonder if there is a way for a new (and somehow discrete) ingame anti-marco mechanism. Like incursions but in an indivitual level. for example A rat patrol can activate a clock divice on a ship (barge/exhumer) and initiate a countdown (for 3-4-5-6 hours, that's depends) if the pilot didn't response/activate this device, then a heave fleet (lvl 4) get launch against him and the fleet that's hes a member. If that player isn't a macro then he can cancel the countdown or leave the countdown to the end and face the rat fleet with a BS or combet fleet. But the strength of the rats must be at least lvl 4 to make things interesting . That's I think it's another very good anti macro measure. |

Its interesting to say the least.
But as with other ideas like this a work around can be found by clicking the box via macro or such like. And random pop ups / (enter random number here tests) are obnoxious for human players.
Still I like the jist of the idea. |

it will be interesting for us too, thats the point. i love the idea to stop mining and get a "defensive" combat with decent rewards/loots e.t.c now and then. Plus the anti-macro result ;) |

But the strength of the rats must be at least lvl 4 to make things interesting . That's I think it's another very good anti macro measure. Unfortunately, even Captcha has been discussed and beaten many times prior. At least that's (edit NOT) macro-beatable but it still get's little or no traction.
Can't remember the reasons it was poo-pooed quite frankly. If it was posted in GD they were true and accurate "I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us...very hard to explain why you're mad, even if you're not mad..."

I don't know if there was another discussion in the past like that I propose, I'm not a fan of forum after all. I use it when I have to say something (very rare indeed) |

One option could be moving all mining to grav sites. Each site might be enough to keep a suitable fleet occupied for a couple of hours. Once the site is exhausted, the fleet will have to move on. Day 0 advice for new players: Day 0 Advice for New Players |

that's another approach and it's more complicated (i think) for devs with my idea there isn't need for great changes, even thatc event can trigger in very few systems and when a system reaches a specific number of miners (for example 20-30-40-50+) e.t.c. |

Not to say the idea is bad mind you. I can see it doing very well if you put them into missions to spice them up a bit. |

that's the point When I want to do missions I have to travel sometimes many jumps away with all my gear and the same my Corp mates. With such an addition it will be a + in every day activities. As I said plus a reason to get rid of some exploits |

captcha for miners?
why dont we just have every window and button on the screen move randomly for everyone? seems like that will be the true solution
You are about to engage in an arguement with a forum alt,-á this is your final warning. |

realy? you think moving windows it is a good idea? I made petition when this happen in my UI When you want to move quickly the last thing you want it is to search for your windows for example when I prepare to undock I want all my holder (cargo-ore-hangar) to set in an exact position and when I'm in space I have to take care other things than setting all the time windows. But this isn't the point I said earlier I'm talking for an additional adventure here (in small scale)

Easy fix:
Small chance that the asteroid / icesteroid you are mining is laced with bignuclearexplodium and goes critical internaly, doing staggered, steadily increasing damage waves like in recon 3/3 to anyone close by. The waves are staggered a minute apart, by the time it gets to the 6th/7th wave damage is at the level where macks are insta-popped. The effect stops, and the critical reaction subsides, when everyone stops mining the asteroid/iceteroid. It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine. |

Anything that automatically KILLS you for being idle (or non-responsive) like that is not a good option imo. Idling in a pos, or cloaked and you die? Doesn't sound cool.
Like stated the Captcha has been talked about, personally that would be ok unless it pops up in the middle of things, moving windows would be annoying as hell.
I foresee many dead supers if idling at a pos gets you killed though...

Kinda sucks for someone unknowingly warping into this belt when one of the higher waves is going off.....
Also, now I know it's going to be hard to believe that I'm not an uber awesome macro programmer after my next statement, but I promise I'm not....
If Ship receives wave damage THEN Warp to station ELSE continue mining

Here a second more thoughtful suggestion, considering some of your responses too. Something like a mining license system/rule e.t.c. After DT, everyone have to update/buy a mining license for a certain system, from Concord or faction pirates (that's optional). After a period of time, miners are flagged and a countdown starts, if there is an action from flagged pilot, then countdown postponed and may start again in a random time (something like police give a traffic ticket for example). If there isn't a response then this ship flagged as outlaw and gives kill in an short time to an auction (for very low price of course), so everyone (even a noob) can gain for it. That is a general idea and it can be changed /alter with any such scenarios. Better now? |

If there isn't a response then this ship takes penalty and flagged as an outlaw (so there are kill rights on it). Those kill rights in a short time goes to an auction (for very low price of course), so everyone (even a noob) can gain for it. That is a general idea and it can be changed /alter with any such scenarios. Better now? P.S. countdown it must allow afk gameplay (not less than an hour or so), otherwise it will be like punish to players ^ ^ What you may have noticed is that the first suggestion takes about 1 line.
As you discover more, you soon realise that the "fix" is now 10 lines long.
The problem is in the ABSOLUTE TRUTH that ACTIVE players should NEVER be penalised for the actions of bots.
Better to actively identify and report bots.... or kill them. A whole new thread in and of itself.
(btw: Goons kill ALL miners and they get ALL bots - even if ALL miners are NOT ALL bots - pretty simple philosophy.) "I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us...very hard to explain why you're mad, even if you're not mad..."
