In a mission, for example The Blockade, which is a wave-mission. Is it correct that the next wave spawns where the last rat died and not necessarily on top of you?
And thus it is wise to make bookmarks and warp back and forth to maintain maxiumum range, if one is set up to work from max range?

Seems to be so in my experience. Don't know if the spawn point is precisely where the last ship blew up, but i use a Tempest at range for non DS missions and the next wave is never on top of me. I still keep ready to warp out thought, just in case Eve decides one day to surprise me

yes and no.
Yes the last kill in the prior wave will be the spawning place for the next wave (roughly) and no its not wise to warp out and warp in again.
Just warp in max range or depanding on the ships you face a little bit closer. Than start shooting. Better to have all the cansnear you than fly 100 km for a civ shield booster or 2 Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

Yes, the next wave spawns where the last rat died.
Easiest solution is to make sure that the last rat is where you want him before he pops.

Last Rat goes BOOM .... the next waves spawns in the area... So, if your doing... Level 3's in a Smaller ship or Level 4's ...yeah...having a BM is not a bad Idea...

Edited by: Jim Steele on 10/03/2005 16:13:22 The next spawn is where the last rat died so notmally its a good idea to kill the closer rats first. Also the mission bookmarks are updated so the new spawn is added to your mission spawn so if you need to warp out you can warp back to 60k of the new bookmark.
Personally if you keep them at range with a mwd you shouldnt have a problem keeping good killing distance, if your worried just save the last rat make a bookmark then warp back to X distance from it. (where X is ~ ones optimal range).
To be honest its best not to warp out as this way you can do the mission quicker but sometimes you are forced to if a difficult spawn gets to close.

On this same topic what about the mission where you have to blow up haulers to get marines to take back to your agent and when you blow up the last hauler a whole bunch of navy ships spawn on you.
Is that spawn on the hauler or on you?

For me this one (And all others for that matter) always spawn on the spot the last enemy died at. ---------------------------

I was doing that mission and had a brilliant plan. I'd just stay really close to the last rat and when it pops I could just pick up the last marines as I had going through all the cans when the mission is finished. Well the next spawn was about 8 of those griffin types and a similar amount of those kestrel types and a few cruisers and they all started to spamming missiles at less than 3km range
I wouldn't recommend this tactic, I even panicked and didn't pick up the marines __________ Capacitor research |

In those missions,I usually warp in at 60km, align and hit ABs wait a few seconds, look at enemy distance and start targeting the faster ones first. Rinse and repeat. Once done all the spawns just pick a can and bookmark. Jump to nearest celestial body and jump back to the bookmark. Pick cans at your leasure.
I always get the cans, I have found many named launchers and other goodies.

In this mission keep one of the smaller rats from the first wave alive and pop the transports first. Pick up the marines, position the last rat where you want the new spawn, then kill it.
This way no need to search for the right cans after the final wave is dead.

I had the mission ,i think it was intercrpt the smugler or something ..first wave was the transports and other cruisers etc..second wave was only frigates..so when i got the last one ..it was close..
third spawn was 4 raven destroyers ,cruisers and 2 weber..
I got webbed at less than 20 km of hell..didn't panic took out the 2 web ..started the AB ,spamming torps...my tanking did hold..
