As I floated aimlessly in my experimental research lab in the depths of space, and 3 days left until my next shipment of exotic dancers and sustenance from my sponsor I had an epiphany that I can only hope my masters find economical and applicable...
Experimental Bombs Fired from an average Bomb Launcher containing variable payloads!
1 - Warp Disruption Bomb - An ordinary Bomb with the exception that instead of delivering an explosive payload, it delivers a fully functional warp disruption probe. It would activate at the same time as a normal bomb would become active. I can only hope that fears of making the fearless interceptor pilots obsolete does not prove to be the undoing of a stroke genius.
2 - Bomb Web - Unusual and experimental electronic warfare probe which creates a stasis webbifying effect in a radius of 15km from the point of the probes activation. This could slow down a portion of a fleet for a period of time, causing unknown chaos. Do to complex electronics, these bombs are the size of two regular bombs.
3 - Targetbraking Pulse Bomb - This bomb delivers a ECM probe which activates after the bomb reaches its maximum flight time and activates for a predetermined period of time with an excellent strength, but extremely limited duration, resulting in the ships within the radius of effect losing their locks. Due to their complicated electronics these bombs are the size of two regular bombs.
This seems like fun doesn't it?

I like number 2 and number 3. Just worried that number 1 will take too much away from dictor pilots. |

An organized bomber fleet using a combination of those could easily shut down an entire fleet at no risk to themselves. Terrible idea. |

#3 exists already, it's called a lockbreaker bomb. I have never seen or heard of anyone using them. The Troll is trolling. |

And entire gang fit with bombs can effectively shut down a fleet. You obviously haven't seen bombers being used in large scale. Bombers do take a risk as soon as they decloak, no matter what they're shooting at you. I think a more valid concern is the fact that it may take away from interdictor pilots but, in a sense, interdictor pilots have a little more survivability and they still could do thinks bombers can't do; especially the main job they have which is given away by the Caldari interdictor's name, "Flycatcher", which is to intercept small targets.

They are quite niche, as people can just retarget. Now if CCP changes them to work like ECM... |
