hi guys / girls.
I m trying to solo lvl 4 missions. I tried in a Megatrhon without succes cause I got damped and scrambled so I could not shoot my guns or appoint the best targets for my drones.
I trying a different approach now: I fitted a Dominix and am greatly improving my drones skills.
In the missions they start to damp me from about 50 / 60 km out. I can start to lock them at -70km. This means i get damped very fast and have to wait untill my drones automatically target and destroy the tacklers.
Any advise how to deal with this?
Let my drones get the agro and accept some losses to be able to keep locking targets? |

well, the obvious solution would be to increase your lock range and snipe everything from >70km.

The skill is unintuitively named "Long Range Targeting".
You can also fit a Sensor Booster and load it with a Targeting Range script.
In any case you should normally have enough locking range on a battleship to lock those scramming frigates orbiting you.

If you're up against sensor range dampers, in addition to the Sensor Booster, you can fit a Signal Amplifier in a low slot if you're comfortable sacrificing one of those slots. The SigAmp can't be scripted like a Sensor Booster, but it's fully passive; it's always "on", and doesn't need to be activated (or to consume cap energy) to give its bonuses to targeting range and signal resolution. Also, SigAmps allow ships to lock extra targets; a T2 SigAmp will give you two extra target locks, boosting the Megathron's or Dominix's count to nine (assuming you've got Multitasking II or better). |

Signal Booster, Signal Booster+script in mids. Signal Amplifiers in low slots. How many of each is up to you. Life is short and dinner time is chancy Eat desert first! |

if i would add sensor booster / amplifiers i would loose a big deal of my tanking ability so better train some longe range targeting |

Honestly it won't help that much.
There's really only one mission with debilitating damping and that's Serpentis Blockade. For now, new waves won't agro your drones, so that one is taken care of.
In general, there's another class of module that will help you deal with damps: prop mods. If you get close enough yourself there's no issue. It's certainly what I prefer over loading up with sebos (unless I'm running some lolNaga fit....) |

Simple, shoot the damp/ scram frigs first tell me how that works for you |

that part I allready figured out off course
the thing is that they get into scramble range to fast due to target range of the Dominix |

There are usually only a couple of warp scrambling frigs in L4 missions, get your light drones out and take out the little frigs first (on aggressive, so that they continue to work if you get jammed) so at least you can warp away if things go wrong.
Once the frigs are out of the way, change to your bigger drones and get the rest. |

Until the winter release, at which point light, medium, and heavy drones are no longer an available weapons platform to combat dampening or jamming EWAR. And since Sentries can't fit frigs orbiting in small tight circles, you and all other mission runners are pretty much screwed. |

Does anyone use ECCM? I rarely get jammed by anything.

First, know the mission - http://www.eve-survival.com
For gurista, I will fit a ECCM on my battleships or use the corresponding subsystem on my T3. Rarely get jammed.
For serpentis, you can fit a booster. I do not though. It does get tough when you have 6 dampeners on you. When you can get a lock, take out the dampening ships first and use your drones. Make sure your tank can take a beating since it takes longer to pop the rats.
Having drones on "aggressive" helps. Just watch their aggro. Also, make sure you match drone type with the rats.
Back to point 1 - know your mission, fit appropriate modules/drones, know the triggers and shoot the scramblers first (except when they are the triggers...) |

know your missions. have a fit ship or ship fit, for different situations.
domi and mega are good ships, domi better then mega.
bump your drone skills to really make it shine, and fit 350 rails to complete the loadout. Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

Actually it does help, I fly a proteus and I use a fit the can get me through any mission without any sweat. The ship has to be on the move all the time, picking up the right targets one by one and always making sure it never gets surrounded.
