I'm not sure whats going on anymore, maybe the end of an era or the start of something amazing...... definite fork in the road has been reached. All i'm doing is training skills nowadays and waiting see which path CCP choose to take.
I never thought i'd say this but i've been playing eve since 2007 and for the first time the game is starting to feel a bit stale. Maybe its time for something new. Might give world of planes a try when its released.

CCP has been bad for 2 years now. All the good people who worked there quit or are working on other games.

I really have been trying to avoid jumping on the "Lets all bash CCP" train.... but g'damnit, they are making it just too easy.
It's time to expand on some content, T2 and Faction BC's... A sub cap, cap ship for PVP (Think Orca with huge guns and warfare links). Do I even need to mention balancing at this point?.?.?

I find it funny how you mention recklessly adding ship classes that have no obvious role to fill aside from "Orca with huge guns and warfare links" and balancing in the same breath. -

. . . .
Nice strawman.... Did I mention "recklessly"
There is plenty of room for additional ship types. I have been partial to the idea of a sub cap, cap ship for quite a while now. And if implemented "correctly" a small fleet of mini dreads could help curb the mom blob curb stomps.
And there is plenty of room for a more straight forward PvP oriented T2/Faction BC. Something more akin to what Battle Cruisers historically were, faster battleships with more or less the same firepower.

?
CCP isn't bad at all. I think they're doing quite well screwing over the game everyone loved and enjoyed.
It's too bad so many people are *still* subscribed. I had no idea EVE's population was so full of mindless zombies who will pay money for crap to be shoved down their throat.
CCP has made it clear: Unsubscribe or they don't give a flying weasel what you think, and threads like this are 100% pointless.

Well, that's pretty easy to answer. For better or for worse, Eve isn't a whole lot different now then it was 2 years ago. For most people that play Eve, and unlike forum whiners like yourself, they tend to do more then spin ships in station and the loss of that particular "feature" wasn't exactly make or break.
Also: Arent you still subscribed?

Edited by: Cave Lord on 02/09/2011 05:07:53 Edited by: Cave Lord on 02/09/2011 05:07:44 No, I unsubscribed after the Jita riots. I pay on a year-long plan which ends in January 1st or 2nd. I did not anticipate the total alienation of the Core product that is EVE.
If you go back and read all the posts and things they said about microtransactions, if you go back and read all the posts and promises about keeping the ship spinning that we all loved... if you do all that and still think EVE is on the right track, you are a fool.
Because after reading all that, you should realize at least 1 thing: Nothing in EVE is sacred. Everything you have ever heard from CCP can, at the drop of a hat, at the whim of CCP leadership, be changed without having any concern for you, the player. They have POSTS and DEV blogs MOCKING EVE (microtransactions). They promised CSM they would re-introduce the ship spinning that they said they would NOT remove, but won't even start doing that until 2014... and now we have quotes saying they have no plans to do it at all.
Am I a bitter vet? Yea. You would be too if you knew what EVE was really about.
-Cave
edit: I frankly don't care if it's WIS or Ship spinning. What I do care about is the fact that they made multiple promises, broke those, and don't really care. I'm more of a WH dweller myself, but I won't get too far into that. lol.

Meh, I thought that people complaining about ship spinning being removed was some kind of Eve related meme. Then I realized they were serious. Then I felt bad for CCP. Then I realized that if you hand a drowning nerd a rope, they will consider the rope of too poor of quality for someone of their status and will then hang you with it in a fit of nerdrage.
Here is the deal, CCP is doing what CCP thinks will make their game more successful. They could be making a bad decision, you may have been right all along. BUT, they are the ones in the drivers seat, they are the ones with millions of dollars and an entire company at stake. You, like me, are a random nerd on the internet, regardless of how many SP you have. Want to do something CCP will actually care about, unsub en masse or HTFU and adapt to an alternate virtual reality game without ship spinning.

Yeah, seriously screwed up.
Lets just pile on more stupidity and lack of content on top of an already depressed and fractured community. Hope those monocles make up for all the lost income.

cept you gotta remove the public input part. they want none of that -------- CCP knows better than the players whats good for their game. SOE knew what was best for SWG too. Better than all those players that left too. |

No, you have input.
Forums, bug reports, etc.
But it's all completely ignored..
