As there was a "ask devs questions" thread in the information portal, I thought it would be good idea to have a thread where devs would ask us players questions, hopefully giving them some insight to our way of thinking and ideas how to improve the game. Dialog requires two participants after all.
There seem to have developed a big gap between devs and players, judging from the threadnaughts and general discontent among us players. It looks as if devs no longer understand why we players do the things we do. Maybe they should ask us in particular. Preferably not all-encompassing questions like "What do you want", but questions with meaningful answers.
Maybe have someone like CCP guard compile a list of questions. Im pretty sure the questions would yield some useful info, assuming that the problems lately have been a result of misunderstandings on devs part. If devs say no, its a good sign that they ignore us completely... Which would be weird considering that they manage a game intended to entertain us..

Players asking devs is easy because there are very few devs and they all are generally working towards a common goal.
Devs asking players is very difficult because there are many thousands of players all with differing opinions on what they want from Eve and where they think Eve should go. To be honest, anything asking for player input would quickly devolve into flame wars and trolling. -----------------------------------

You can comment here. Sometimes the devs reply on ideas, mostly they do on regards of their own threads though. - Hilmar getur ekki tala= vi= &ig n7na, hann er a= fara _ japanska Tfskuverslun.

Edited by: Zey Nadar on 22/08/2011 11:05:04 Yeah, thats why I haven't really paid attention to that forum, as it feels like a junkyard of possibilities and ideas and only couple of them ever get touched by the devs.
It feels more like players arguing with themselves.

You are too late devs already doing that , read greyscale blog about the ideas of nullsec and check the feedbacks on those ideas
I think this is a great way to learn what the general feelings are about certain aspects of the game , and somehow i think this will not b the last time they ask for feedback about certain aspect of the game ________________________________________ Minmatar are like jedi knights, we use ductape as our force, it has a darkside and a sticky side

I'm sure many Devs at CCP know exactly that most players don't like the direction that this game is heading. The problem is that they're just normal employees that don't have any more to say about how CCP is run then does any other low-level worker in their various companies.
I'm sure there were also countless investment bankers and hedge fund managers (ok, maybe not many of the latter) that also realized the financial system was about to go down the tubes but the people that could have prevented the disaster were to busy snorting coke or hiding the vast amount of money they stole.
It's likely the same with CCP. The normal, honest Devs are not to blame.. they just do their (more or less) 9-5 job and then go home. It's the Bizdev scum that are running the company who are to blame for the steady decline of this game, not the dudes that do the actually design and programming.
I mean, just look at what kind of people are working in CCP management and look at their employment history. Should be pretty obvious why everything is going down the tubes. *coughcough* Citigroup *coughcough*

Fail, OP.
...anything that starts with "Devs answer your every question" thread is on auto-fail.
They answered a few more almost a month ago... but that's after almost a month. Before that it was weeks. Extrapolating the widening frequency of responses approaches infinite time. I want my questions answered first.

The forums are pretty much already an opened ended "ask the players anything." For example, we often solicit specific feedback on anything from patches to upcoming changes. So feel free to post your ideas in places like the Devblog comments threads and the 0.0 feedback threads featured right now in the Features and Ideas forum.
