My girl friend is joining me this time around. I have around 500m and a Raven. I used to mainly run level 4 missions, then blew up a Golem, got ****ed, and quit.
I am confused abouut where to start for this game...but am utterly sick of WoW so I took the 5 day offer and gave my gf a 21 day trial, soo....now what? lol

If your looking to make some ISK, whilst jokeing around on eve voice you should try incursions. Where you fly a raven im assuming your a shield tanker and should join "BTL pub" ingame channel and go from there. Some tips. Passive shield tank. listen to the fc;s, dont go running in alone as they WILL kill you and yeah other then that currently this is the ebst way to make isk on eve.

Name, no. Face, if THIS is your character (the "silhouette"), yes, you should be able to do a full recustomization (either click the recustomize button in the station services or walk to the mirror and click it) but afterwards, you can only change clothes, pose and such, no more resculpting of facial features after the first face-sculpting. _

Alright, I'm going to become a female named Vincent Lionhart. Guess I'll role play a transgender from Thailand.
(no offense just making a joke).

1. Go to Amarr or Jita and rage fire at the monument for a bit, then click on the NeX and either buy a monocle (and refer to all other non-monocle wears as peasants) or don't by one and put on your peasant hat.
2. load the CQ, rage about lag, lights, or that your PC is now on fire.
3. If your PC survived step 2, then read and listen to the blogs and podcasts of the past month on various sites about EVE.
4. Play with new turrets... if you are a missle person (assuming raven) you can feel left out as you got nothing in that mix.
5. at this point you may wish to continue or to un-sub...
6. if you choose to stay with things, then the world is your oyster, you are in the sand, er... clay... er... um... nvm... you can choose to do whatever you want.... go for it.

First thing you'll want to do is press escape and uncheck, "Load station environment."

Well, it depends on what type of game play you are looking for? Incursions are good if you are looking to socialize a bit while completing content that is a little more difficult than lvl 4's but just as predictable.
Personally, I very much enjoy the unpredictable nature of WH living. It is much more interesting, and can net you way more profit if you can excel in an extremely competitive environment. It will also give you more opportunity to work cooperatively with your girl friend as there are lots of jobs to be done in a WH that are much less skill point demanding than in missions or incursions.
The EVE Uni suggestion is also a good one, they are a very helpful bunch and will get you started down what ever path you find you enjoy the most.

Quite Personally I would encourage you to completely change your attitude toward this game. If you left the first time only running level 4 missions and Emo rage quitting to a Golem loss then you completely missed everything this game has to take advantage of.
Instead of missions try these couple things:
- PvP (Red VS Blue might be a good start or a 0.0 starter corp) - Market PvP, Be a tycoon and carve out your niche in a trade hub or something - Incursions, great teamwork and very healthy rewards - Wormholes, Probably the best space in eve (encompasses all aspects of the game really)
Either way you must understand that EvE has nothing to offer you. Fun and productivity in EVE is directly proportional to the time and effort you put into it. You have to make things happen in this game to truly experience its beauty.
Hope this helps.

Hmm, do you want to run missions with your gf, or make isk and blow other people up? There are a lot of things you can do as a profession, build, mine, gank people for their stuff, pirate, 0.0, wormholes, incursions, faction warfare, trade. The list goes on.
Does your girl like blowing stuff up like I do? I'll admit its the most fun I had in eve. Glad to see more fellow girls in eve. Well good luck to you mate. I'd say go roleplay as Bonny and Clid. ;) Totally loved going all flashy red and all like being the criminal. Only getting away with it. XD

Good advice from both posts. +4 internets for actually responding to his question.

Sorry to hijack your thread...
but I'm also in the same boat, I just recently renewed my subscription after a 2 year absence
Currently I'm liquidating all my assets in null sec, and looking to go from there.
What are these incursions you guys speak of?

An incursion is when a bunch of sansha ships try to invade a system and hundreds of carebears rush into to pew pew them. Leaving the sansha without a chance in the world to survive with such large bounties on their heads.
AKA a fun and interactive means to get players to want to play together in a pve setting for isk and lp rewards. A needed and great system introduced in the last expansion.
