Dray Caldari Euphoria Released HYDRA RELOADED	Posted - 2011.08.05 22:48:00 - [1] Just watched it, I wont bother with an in depth review (it isn't worth it), just imagine the Goonies + ET - the best bits ( safe to say ET wont add much to the best bits), then you have Super 8, and that's being kind, very kind in fact. I hated Lost, and as a consequence JJ Abrahams, but I really enjoyed the last ST movie so I thought I'd give him a chance, more the fool me. Your time watching Super 8 would be better spent nailing your genitals to a table, it would be less painful and over quicker.

It seemed to rely heavily on bold and edgy effects sprinkled with a few cool one liners....kinda like watching '300' in space. Also, the spinning blinding light effects were annoying.

I liked Cloverfield, i liked the camera, i liked the idea, i liked the monster, i liked the death of 'leads' and i liked the fact it didnt explain a thing in the end. In fact it was the movie id always wanted to see. I watch it still, and i still recommend it. Star Trek - Was excellent, there was a hell of a lot of detail and timelining in the script and everyone that played a part did it justice. I watch it still, and i still recommend it. Super8 is a 12... it is with Spielberg... The main characters are kids... why were you thinking it would be complex and edgy or any type of movie glory beyond Hollywood Summer Holiday faf ? Shaky camera was a gimmick, a very big one gimmick. That movie offers nothing more than a cool effect, the shaky camera. I'd rather watch a movie that evokes strong emotions, makes me ponder, or gives me some meaningful insight into life/our world. These movies (super 8, transformers, cloverfield, etc) all are targeted at and made for the mindless masses. Other Gimmicks: Super 8 - From the trailer.. Nobody knows what the "monster" is. Transformers - Big robots that change into cars.

Kraven Stark Caldari Atavism Industries	Posted - 2011.08.08 19:32:00 - [16] I liked Super 8, a lot actually. I also really enjoyed Cloverfield and the ARG that went on behind the scenes. I hated Lost post season 3. Super 8 had a great, sort of retro feel. It reminded me of when I watched buddy movies back in the 80's and 90's such as Flight of the Navigator, Stand by Me and, of course, Goonies. Spielburg and Abrams both mentioned that creating another ET was their goal, but they definitely got closer to Goonies. The movie was shot really well and the story was decent, if not predictable. The big draw here will be how you relate to the characters. If you end up not feeling anything for any of them, the movie will probably not be enjoyable for you. I would watch it again.

My definition does infact include philosophical debate and thin cigars. Cloverfield is a mindless movie for mindless viewers, just because they rejected it like you say doesn't mean it wasn't. And It never was "ruined" you can't "ruin" something that has nothing to begin with. Transformers sucked, who cares if it had robots and was owned by a toy company? I've seen KID movies that give me more to think about than transformers. Go see Wall-E and tell me which movie you'd watch again in the future. It doesn't matter what age group the movie is made for, it is either mindless (offering only explosions and big knockers) or not. Super 8 being a family movie doesn't excuse it for being trash.
