At least now my space barbie can play dress up with some free space bling.

I love the eve mail I just got:
"The Noble Exchange is the high-powered professionalĘs premium clothing and apparel outlet."
Jesus, CCP, could you seriously be more out of tune with what EVE players want? I cannot wait until my accounts expire in a few weeks.

Of course, because success is a $1000 pair of pants.

Here's what gets me ł CCP, as also echoed by the customer base who bought monocles has promoted the NeX items (epitomized by the monocle) as being about status.
Who's status? Not the characters. It's about the player's status. Well, that means the player has real money to spend or they have the time to grind.
But this game like other MMOs really is about the character. It's the reason you train your character to do things. It's the reason you have, with your character's skills the ability to achieve things in the game world.
Why then, is it about the player status? I can buy 10 monocles right now because I have the RL job and money. I haven't, nor do I care, to do **** in-game. I don't grind for ****. I shouldn't be able to get anything that has a "status" attached to it if I haven't earned the loyalty points, gained the standings, hooked up the right corp/alliance ties or learned to trade well (which I have).
So, it truly is about "play to win". You can buy your status now instead of gain it. That, by the way, is the difference between MT and PLEX. With plex I just got a little leg up to get going in the game and still have to earn my "status".

It's no longer about the character. EVE is real. You are your character. The status is the same. --------

Ha ha, yeah I kinda got that idea from CCP. I was playing devil's advocate.
Yes, what I'm saying is that you matter players. You are wonderful! You need to spend that well earned paycheck to show the rest of us how great you are!
Good night, you princes of Maine, you kings of New England!
It is REAL now folks. So you better measure up. You better make sure those combat skills are level 5. That door's about to open soon.

I really doubt the monocle purchasers are the reason we are getting free aur
Just for the reccord, I don't like aur either... And saying "free space dress up" just sounds like you wanted aur in the first place, just dump the stuff. It's no chip off the monocle owners shoulder, so I don't get the reason of this post
