I had the notion of using one of my alts to be the CEO of my player corp. Train her up in the trade areas and stick her in a trade hub to station trade and eventually daytrade while the main goes off missioning.
She'll basically never travel, so can act as a placeholder in the event of wardec.
Anyone else tried this? Smart move? Dumb? Meh? ----- Adepto Aurum Amoreque Abire |

Edited by: Malak Alraheem on 25/07/2011 00:27:17 . <--- This is one of my CEO alts.
I never leave a station, initially I just trained enough to allow my other alts and my friends in to the corp. Eventually I did train up some trade skills. I had several other 'CEO alts' but some do perform other functions (mostly haulers and PI)
This toon runs a corp just for alts (well it did, I'm the last one who's account hasn't expired yet) with a very basic premise; If we get wardecced, the players can leave for another corp. When the dec is over feel free to come back. In the case of this corp, if decced we just play our main toons for the duration of the dec.
Anyway, since this toon has no other function (well, some minor trading and as my forum alt these days) I can just park it. The corp hangar and all that can remain intact should we need it without having to reform.
. I'm as mad as I can take it and I'm not going to hell anymore!
I have reassigned my money for CCP to other projects for the next 18 months... |

I have a ceo alt I use for my corp. When we were still living in high sec we did mostly griefing and war decking. Occasionally mercs would get hired to war deck us. I would log my ceo alt in and move him to some remote part of eve like Khanid and would watch the mercs all make 40 jumps to camp that toon in station while the rest of the corp carried on business as usual.

some of us arn't, personally having both grown up in Syndicate so to speak and lived thru a war that was almost a year long
I personally like shooting people(not that I ever get to fly anything other than a logi, CS, or covert ops) I just don't want my 'funding' war dec'd, cuts into profits

Isn't everybody doing this? Personal corp, trading, hauling in a freighter. Main has freedom to hop around for combat with other corps etc. War decs don't apply. Mostly sit in station and trade. Head to Jita. I hear the trading is great there. Only a matter of minutes for turn around rather than days.
This is how I play the game.

Cool. So it looks like my basic plan of CEO/Trader Alt + Research & Industry Alt + General Main alt is solid. One of the other reasons I thought of splitting this way was to optimise attributes, especially with the reseach/industry guy. ----- Adepto Aurum Amoreque Abire |

He scammed me and disbanded the corp.

For some it's just the inconvenience - if you're an industrial corp or into hauling it effectively stops you going about your activities in the same manner. You either need to plan very careful or run escorts or other logistics which they can either not field or can't be bothered to.
Personally I like the interruption every now and again but all too often high sec war decs can turn into station games or just be horribly one sided but have had a few good ones. |
