After PvPing in RvB since 2009, and being a fan of roleplay, I had thought there might be a way to mix both together.
Would anyone be interested in forming a two corp relationship, similar to Red Vs Blue, but with a roleplay background?
It is very plausible and could make for a very interesting story. Whether it be two corps that directly represent one of the four empires or a more fringe element.
Discuss.
Edit: Not only am I interested in seeing if there is an audience large enough to pursue this idea but your input on methods that would make this work or what you would like to see story wise (It doesn't have to be simply 2 factions against each other, it could be a group of corps with different political goals making way for interesting diplomatic situations.)

Not sure if your crazy "factional warfare," idea will ever take root, but i'm pretty skeptical. No way it will ever be implemented.

If you are familiar with Red vs Blue, it is two corps that have a mutual war dec on each other. Both corps have about 30+ on at all times and are always running war ops on each other.
I would like to replicate this, most likely on a smaller scale, with a roleplay element. The difference is that it might not just be TWO corps involved. It could be multiple depending on the 'political situation'.

You realize that doing this, especially since you just made a forum post about it, will make you a wardec target for just about every highsec "PVP" corp which ever lived? -------- Enemy corps raided into disbandment: Three.

Roleplayers are the worst. They are a cancer that infects mmorpgs and should be eradicated when spotted.

You are playing a mmoRPG(aka massively multiplayer online ROLE PLAYING game).
Just by creating a character, naming it, and doing things in-game you are role-playing. Not to any hardcore extent, but you are actively pretending to be something you are not in real life.
I wonder why role-players are looked down on so much in EVE, my theory is that you were all picked on in high school by the football team and now you think you get a chance to be the "cool guy" and pick on the "nerds". We are all playing EVE, therefore we are all nerds no matter who you are or what you do in real life. ________________________________________________ Some say the universe is almost full of honest people, well I say the universe is full of almost honest people. -Unknown |

Somehow I got the impression he was talking about "factional warfare" without one side completely and utterly outblobbing the other side.

Uh huh. The blobs out there are horrible. Just yesterday a battlecruiser got destroyed by three battlecruisers. These blobs are out of control.

A new idea in eve, sweet i think it sounds good. I wish you all the luck in making it work, for the people that commented about RvB read his post you nooblets. (semi rage moment) He pays for the game he flys his ship he trains his character he jumps through gates and hell if he wants to make a RP corp based on RvB then super go for it. This is now addressed to the forum warriors close down your OOGB (out of game browser) start your eve program and play the freaking game, dont sit here *****ing and moaning about someone else doing, what you dont have the intelligence or pure self drive to do. (rage over) I might be intrested send me a mail on this char in-game.

Actually I like the idea, Ive never been into RPing in Eve but I am a supporter of playing however you want to. Diversity is what makes Eve what it is (well at least until our RMT overlords finally take over all new eden).
RVB is a great idea and its good to see it still running and people having fun, I see alot of people come and go from them just to have a go, practice pvp, or to stay in and really live it.
A similar idea but with storyline, content and RP would seem a logical next good step adn Im sure you will get people who want to have a go.
How about a good versus bad type scenario, wher RvB has no good or bad guys, if its for roleplaying it may be good to have that idea, some people get to be the good dudes, defending law and order while the enemy are unbridled reavers, criminals and evil people. But anyway, I liek the idea and will watch out for it. I have a low SP pvp alt (this one actually) growing up now and may look into it if you do take the idea up.

If this would be like RvB with a political background and actually advancing storyline I could be interested one day. RvB has more of a 'sports'-feeling, clean and somewhat bland (not implying that isn't okay, but boring from a RP-perspective).
Idea: build a corporation per empire/faction (alliances later, once this gets off the ground), overlap the high-sec fringe regions of the factional warfare zones, and establish a border conflict zone. Tie it into FW by providing logistics, or simulate landholders/companies/military support trying to secure the 'hinterland' against your (high-sec wardecced) opposing corp/alliance.
Idea: build up a localized story of political backstabbing and possession-conflicts, like quarelling nobles/rival companies/blood feuds. Build a couple of corporations with a defined sphere of influece, then try to push into the other's spheres. Be it rights to mine asteroid belts, PI, or just fly through those systems space.
Like simulated null-sec made possible by the wardec-mechanics. No game-ressource rewards, but fabulous RP-possibilities and less griefing. Straight NRDS because CONCORD is breathing down your neck and no harassement of innocent bystanders...
Though after this exposition I guess the biggest problem would be to keep it safe and isolated, as I think the 'griefers' would be most interested to intervene at any given moment...
Though again as soon as that environment has stabilized it could be woven into the story...
