Edited by: Aicar Leuscirh on 07/07/2011 21:14:25 BREAKING NEWS - HEAVY FIGHTING IN HARROULE
Harroule - Twelve hours ago, the last of the Federation defence forces in the Harroule solar system in southern Placid were eradicated by State Protectorate forces. While the system's military control bunker was open to attack, the majority of STPRO forces pulled out as counter-efforts were launched by the Federal Defence Union.
Within the past few hours, a STPRO battlecruiser fleet attempted to destroy and conquer the Harroule control bunker, but were routed by a Federation battleship retaliatory force. While the Caldari pilots abandoned their vessels in Harroule and retreated in capsules, two Archon-class carriers belonging to the 24th Imperial Crusade were deployed in Ostingele to engage the FDU fleet. Moments later, up to forty supercarriers and other supercapital vessels belonging to the Raiden. alliance arrived, and began engaging targets of opportunity. It is unclear where this particular engagement took place.
Reports are still coming in from the south Placid area, with the State Protectorate resuming their conquest of the system. Reports of mass panic on Harroule IV cannot be confirmed at this time, though it is believed all Federation and local defence forces on the ground are on high alert. ------------------------------------------------- Aicar Leuscirh Capsuleer Affairs Correspondent The Scope |

(DUUREANTA COLONY ù 7/7/113) Residents of this Intaki colonial world are in a state of fear as a pitched battle for control of the Harroule System rages in the skies overhead.
In nighttime regions of the planet, the explosions of space combat are sometimes visible to the naked eye. Elsewhere, masses of people crowd around video screens to catch glimpses of the fighting being broadcast in real time from the frontlines.
ôI canÆt believe itÆs coming to this again,ö said Vashti Chandakar, as she made her way into a crowded grocery. ôWhen is this war going to end?ö
The grocery, and many others like it, are being overrun by anxious Duureantans who are concerned about possible supply disruptions during and following the fighting.
So far no curfews have been put in place, but regional officials said they are a possibility if it becomes necessary to protect public safety.
Local law enforcement agencies are on alert to enforce the curfew and are also gearing up for riot control and vice operations.
ôThe last time the Caldari came in here, we saw a sharp increase in drugs and drug-related crimes,ö said Chief Deputy Daljeet Rousseau, second in command of the Feezong Provincial Police Force. ôWe werenÆt ready then, but we will be this time.ö
Col. Antoine Gerrard, commander of a Gallente marine garrison located near the Duureantan capital said his men are ready to ôdo whatever it takesö to ensure the safety of the planetary population. His men were relocated to the colony after it was liberated from Caldari occupation last year.
ôI can assure you and the people of Harroule that absolutely no Caldari ground forces will be allowed to step foot on Federation soil,ö Gerrard said.

BREAKING NEWS - STATE PROTECTORATE FAIL TO CAPTURE HARROULE; FIGHTING CONTINUES ELSEWHERE
Harroule - Caldari militia forces have failed in their initial attempt to gain control of the Harroulean control bunker, having been routed by the Federal Defence Union. Although the system is still open to attack and has yet to be resecured by Navy forces, reports are coming in that "nearly all available assets" of the FDU are deployed to deter any State threat and answer any FedNav distress calls on the fluid router. According to some analysts, the FDU has not been this active outside the OMS-Tama pipe and instead across the greater Placid area since the fierce liberation campaigns in December 111.
It is expected that the State Protectorate will launch a second attempt to capture Harroule tomorrow. All Federation military forces deployed in the region are on high alert. The Scope will continue to monitor the situation as it develops. ------------------------------------------------- Aicar Leuscirh Capsuleer Affairs Correspondent The Scope |
