Edited by: Rastigan on 03/07/2011 15:55:26 I know all Minmatar and Amarr fleets make things easier for people to train, but can you please
give us a reason to use blasters on battlecruisers and bigger, or railguns on ANY ship ?
Hell, even a *soon* (tm) blue post would be awesome.

Hybrids that work will be in the Aurium shop soon (TM)
Theyre not game breaking either as theyre simply the ballence needed to bring them up to being acceptible.

I'm currently training for T2 rails for my Rokh, so if takes ccp two months to fix them that would be cool with me.

The problem with rails is that their advantage (longest range) isn't an advantage anymore. Rails used to be king, but the game changed on them and now they suck.
One solution might be to play up the 'hybrid' half-way between energy weapon and projectile aspect of rails. Make their ammo like minmatar ammo, only different.
3 groups of 3 rounds, fixed K/T damage types for all rounds. One round in the group works like a conventional hybrid round does currently, one round in the group lets the rail work like a slightly inferior artillery, and one round lets the rail work like a slightly inferior laser.
Lasers are still better at being lasers and have fast crystal swapping, Artillery is still better at being artillery and can pick damage type, rails can function at a competent level in any role on the fly, and they can snipe you from long range.
The problem here is getting the system to work with blasters. The easiest fix would be to simply allow blasters to only load antimatter, since antimatter and sometimes null are the only things you load into blasters currently, and null is blaster only already.

FYP, while still making you seem overly-optimistic.

To be honest rails should be a pretty easy fix.
Blasters on the other hand are probably a bit more tricky as in themselves they are not so bad but suffer from being fitted mainly to slow ass ships and applying damage can be a huge issue.
