Timeline is about right. IIRC I first sensed a disturbance in the force about 2 years ago (6 months after I started playing.)

Really quite interesting that an investment banker is working for CCP. I don't find it troubling though. I'm pretty sure that you're connecting dots that don't exist.

Couldnt help but notice CCP becoming less and less their good old selves since about this time. Bean counters ruin games CCP. This one is no different.

Accountants always are responsible for strategic decisions in upper management.
Just like lawyers are society's moral center. ...Then when you stopped to think about it. All you really said was Lalala. |

From further down the quoted Wiki page:
Heavy exposure to troubled mortgages in the form of Collateralized debt obligation (CDO's), compounded by poor risk management led Citigroup into trouble as the subprime mortgage crisis worsened in 2008.

Wait. . .CCP couldn't find an unemployed former banking investor in ICELAND? Or were they like, "you know what, investment bankers over here are idiots. Let's hire an American investment banker!" Because if so, I have sad news. . .

Personally I think martians landed & possessed all CCP employees in an attempt to stop them making a spaceships game that was too good.
They were worried about training earthlings to become future spaceship warriors too effectively.
You think that's a little far fetched right?
Well how else would you explain $60US plus for a cr4pp vanity item? That **** just aint sane, I got nothing else!

Edited by: Gwenywell Shumuku on 24/06/2011 07:10:16 well, to be fair, he bailed out in 2008, so just before the crash. Now, thats not bad i would say, knowing that the banks got in trouble already 2006 (US blindly kept their rating up, cluster**** programmed)

He could have bailed December 2008, or was pushed, my god maybe he caused the crash, he's been hiding within CCP all this time! ----------------------------------- New Eden Chronicles: Prime, Coming soon. |

When they have big name bankers from banks that ran themselves out of business right before being hired by CCP? I can't heal stupid

Oh hey, a banker who worked at the same time economy in the world half broke is the cause of all EVE's problems right now, because he worked in a field he worked in!
Just saying, that simply because he worked in that Citibank thing doesn't make him the cause, I only heard about one bank that didn't need a support package (namely ours, but they went on with the support thing anyway just in case).

But shady implies some sort of background manipulation?

We will never know what kind of influence he has on this new MT centric direction, but I have my suspicions so all I can say is I think it's shady. I do think he's involved with it, along with the **** tonne of investors CCP has taken on board to finance Dust and WoD. Have heard rumors that their last few meetings with VC's have gone badly.

So yes, you do think he's (part of) the cause.
(funny, I actually had to re-read the thread to remember what I was on about xD)
