Just to get a bit of perspective on what CCP are charging for these items.
1 plex = $19.95 1 plex = 3500 AUR 175 AUR = ~$1.00
Looking Glass Ocular Implant - 12000 AUR = $68.57 Men's Sterling Dress Shirt - 3600 AUR = $20.57 Women's Sterling Dress Blouse - 3200 AUR = $18.28 Men's Commando Pants - 3000 AUR = $17.14 Women's Impress Skirt - 3600 AUR = $20.57 Women's Sterling Dress Blouse (Platinum) - 4400 AUR = $25.14 Men's Precision Boots - 1000 AUR = $5.71 Women's Greave Kneeboots - 2400 AUR = $13.71
So please tell me CCP, is your entire dev team hooked on crack *******? How could you possiby charge so much real life money for ingame vanity items? I personally couldn't care less as I have no intention of ever buying this crap, I'm just disgusted CCP would actually have such disrespect for their customers to charge this kind of money for rubbish.
CCP, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Last month: "Oh **** CCP is introducing microtransactions for items its going to unbalance the game!" Last week: "Okay so they'll just be vanity items but still, microtransactions are horrible and will only lead to ruin!" Tonight: "God damnit these vanity items that I said I'll never buy are way too expensive for me! Eve is dying are you happy now CCP?!?!"

People will buy it though even though none of it looks any good, that is the sad thing. There are always alot of people with more money than sense.

Seriously if everything was priced somewhere between 5~10% of the joke it is now (just 600 aur for the bloody monocle) this could have been good |

We had more options than this before they added the newer graphics. Now they are very slowly giving us the options to buy for extremely high prices what we already had in the past.

If I could get a ballroom gown that was covered in Zydrine sequins or something like that, I would totally be down for spending a bit of money (read: $30-50.) But for a shirt, forget it.
By the way, the boots are the only somewhat sensibly priced item on that entire list.

I didn't even know much about all this stuff until I logged in and saw the new icon in station. I don't care about walking around in stations, my fps is crap so station is static. I don't care about character customization, I spend most of my time out in space. I just think it's disgraceful that CCP would attempt to fleece their customers like this. I've been playing for almost 3 years and this is a new low for CCP.

lol
Guess that is one way to get the 65,000 excess PLEX off the server.
$68.57 for something that will go boom with your pod.... HAHAHAHAH
Oh wait, I see a problem. CCP seems to not understand retail pricing. Always double the cost of a Men's Shirt to get the price of a woman's shirt, they will pay!!! You can justify it by claiming that women's breasts take more cloth to cover.... or in this case more pixels.

While I think vanity items are fine - as >>micro transactions<< I think the prices are most certainly not reflective of what other studios deem as micro.
Let's have a definition: Microtransaction - A transaction for a very small amount of money (a micropayment)
The current pricing for vanity items is way above what I was expecting. Usually items priced in the below range indicate an in game item that provides some kind of booster or effect. All of these items are cosmetic only.
The prices should be more like this(and there should be more items): Looking Glass Ocular Implant - 12000 AUR = $5 Women's Sterling Dress Blouse (Platinum) - 4400 AUR = $4 Men's Precision Boots - 1000 AUR = $1 Women's Greave Kneeboots - 2400 AUR = $2.50
The current pricing would be better spent on eve-time or isk, not overpriced cosmetic items.
While I thought "cool this might actually attract more players to eve and add immersion", I'm now agreeing with some of the player base that this appears to be a "cash grab" - I just hope CCP is aiming to put this cash to good use in improving the core and fundamental game play that is eve... space game play.
---------- I plan to live forever. So far so good. |

Edited by: Khamelean on 22/06/2011 02:43:15 Just think of the items in the noble exchange as high end exclusive fashion. It's not that hard to find clothing that costs as much as a ferrari in the real world. Exclusive items are worth what people are willing to pay for them, when marketing exclusive items at people who buy super carriers by the dozen, you can afford to charge a lot.
It should be worth keeping in mind that if they made the NEX items too cheap it would over inflate the value of plex and deflate the value of isk. Large fleet battles sound far less impressive when you hear about how they destroyed a fleet of 100 capital ships with an equivalent real world cost of $3.50.

Way to stick it to the hypocritical collective hivemind, Zverofaust! Although, here's a thought, perhaps people have... differing opinions?

Again I will say that CCP needs to consider terminating Employment of certain members of the biz department who consistently give bad ideas to be implemented.

So you don't agree that the blatant greed and the content-starved eyecandy MT-update are no reasons to worry about the direction this game is going?

No, you don't loose what your wearing if you get pod killed. You can loose this stuff if it is in your cargo hold. Attire also doesn't jump with you change jump clones.

This
Anyone who is having fits of Emo Nerd Rage over the price of imaginary boots needs to get a grip in my view. I'm basically hearing people whining "I'll have to do something stupid (pay obscene price) to have a cool imaginary monocle..." Stupid is as stupid does.
