Ok so far:
logged on using the cpoy paste method: check noticed that ships in the ships folder have no right click menu on the mac: check sooo: mac user are not able to change ships, not able to open corp hangers or the ore hold on a orca. Next issue: unable to move anymore in the captains quarters...
short explenation: this content is broken, untested simply an embaresment, people who said this was ready for launch should be fired yesterday. I mean don't blame this on unforseen bugs, this is the basic function of the game and it's broken for mac user's. Seriously, release the patch later for mac and actually test it, or don't release anything at all if you know it's broken.

Known Issues
- We have discovered an issue with the Mac client patch. Mac client users will need to download the full client.
Ok, so just to clarify, all mac users should NOT download the current patch, but instead reload the full client? Do we need uninstall Incursions, or will it overwrite?
Any guesstimate when the patch will be fixed so it will work on Mac's? Few hours, Few days?
Thanks.
The Mac patch is currently being tested but we do not currently have an ETA on when it will be done but we will let you know as soon as it is available. Our current work around is to download the full client.
Numerous posts asking if we downloaded the patch will the full download overwrite the patch or do we need to take other action first? When CCP finally responds no mention of what many of us are asking.
I really enjoy this game and was foolishly hopeful that my Incarna experience would be different from the last upgrades. Surely they would adequately test a major change like this. Apparently not.
I'm sure that they are all running around like headless chickens trying to fix this and they are all probably exhausted. But when this happens time after time is there not a review that points out that the process (as well as the code) is broken?
I've evaluated my process and am committed to change. I will be taking a weeks break from Eve for the next major upgrade. I like to think that they would learn from debacle after debacle, but it doesn't seem that they do or that they will.

You know we should really know by now, on day before patch day, set a minimum 3 day skill and just assume that things will work on Wednesday, but certainly not Tuesday. CCP here's a technique that works for many companies, under promise and over deliver. Tell us it's gonna be down for 24 hours, so when you fix it in 22 we're happy. I'm now going to bed, and won't be able to attempt again until 0930. Given that my queue ended at 2255 or so I figure you'll owe me ~ 10 hours. Given that you had originally promised that it would be all happy and ready to go by 1730.

I dont want to be a winie ***** and all..
And i do realize that the minimum system req. has been bumped up.
But i refuse to believe that a 15" mac book pro with an i7 processor, 4Gb DDR3 Ram, and a GT330M Nvidia card, should be expecting an average of 8 fps in space
liek.. wtf

I myself got in using the Cntrl-C and Cntrl-V trick with textedit, but my client at LEAST 10x more laggier/slower, and my mac is working ridiculously hard ATM, not that it should run ANY hotter than it originally did.
Its like someone put honey in my CPU......
Oh, the first time I logged onto captains quarters it took me 1+ minute to actually load it.

Downloaded new client. Moved old client to trash. Moved Preferences to desktop (will move them back later).
Mounted disk image (skipped verification). Copied client to applications, launched app and logged in no problem.
Captains Quarters is a bit laggy, but everything else is working fine.

Congratulations CCP.
I'm a Mac user and after downloading the path, now I see that I will need to download the full client.
I would like to know WHO will pay for the extra traffic to my ISP. At least CCP owes us a compensation since this was caused by CCP's incompetence and not my fault.
Any honoured company would offer some kind of compensation.

Apparently, these guys are the dreaded failures that were leftover from WoW. They got a wonderful idea for a game, just dismally poor at executing the writing there of. But what do expect from those who service their nullsec buddies on their knees...
Whoa!!!! I just had a special moment... Could you imagine what this game would be like if they had REAL programmers that wrote the whole game in assembly language? No lag, it would work or not and would be blazing fast. No bloated code base from M$ Windblows to deal with....
"SLAP!"
Damn, reality just hit me....

Tried again, after removing caches.
- Can't right-click on items and ships in station. As a result, can't change ships.
- Avatar's skin turned to bright yellow... partially. See here.
Now, convince me that someone actually launched the client on a mac and tried to do some basic thing. Somehow I doubt it. :D

Last I looked at the test announcement they said basically 'macs don't work so well so don't bother letting us know that macs don't work'... and that was the last time I looked.

Given the number of changes being made, and the mac clients pre-Incarna graphics performance issues, I had very low expectations of how this would go.
However, how in hades do you manage to issue a client which does not even allow log-in to work properly?
I think I'll check back in a few days (assuming its playable once I've logged in)... |

And now my mcbook is so warm with CQ that I have to undock to cool down my machine... So, I disabled station environement.
The good thing... if I need something to cook or to warm my flat, I just have to enable CQ !!!
GREAT !!!

Seriously CCP, as much as I love your game and try to defend it, this was poorly planned, crappily thought out, and just not the smartest idea in the long run, you might end up losing more people to issues and lag because nobody wants to spend hundreds of $ to upgrade their computers. Unfortunately I agree that you will owe us some compensation for telling us that the game would be ready over 8 hours ago.

I had heard of these same problems reported in the forums, and I wasn't even following it. I foolishly thought that CCP just fixed the problem before release. Silly me. If CCP does not have enough Mac engineers, and won't hire more, maybe they should just drop the Mac client. Do it well, or not at all.

Then tell them to stop taking our money and stop lying to us. If it's not gonna work, fine, but I'm not going to keep paying for a broken game.

People using mac eve client is what, 3% of total userbase? I think they're prepared for ditching that much.
Now, I wonder how many of those remaining 97% are people rebooting to Windows to play Eve... :D

Mac clientele is said to pay good $$$ for polished products.
I guess greed let's them keep trying even though CCP has a proven record of lacking the skills to deliver a polished product.

Indeed ! If I need to upgrade my computer just to play this buggy game I swear that I will sell all my toons and leave the game at once.
THIS IS NAMED INCOMPETENCE !
How the hell you release a path without testing ?!
