It can be done, but its dps is pretty bad for killing drone boats, or mission runners with decent tanks.
You can always get lucky killing someone with only rat specific hardeners or kill a noob pvper or a hauler!

I challenge you to show me an Arazu, that will live, and that can kill a mission boat solo. Beyond that.....I challenge you to show me an Arazu, that will live, that can kill anything solo. Use it in a fleet or in an INCREDIBLY unique situation.

Tbh if you get a shield tanker in angel sanctum for example or armor tanker in sansha/blood sanctum with dps fittings there tanks will be quite strained, and with correct damage types you can hurt them quite a bit.

You know these used to be a guy who flew a blaster arazu around stain. He had a large spreadsheet and stopwatch after he worked out how long it would take different bs to lock him - and got a lot of kills.
You're challenge isn't demonstration, it's exercising you're grey matter. ***The EVE servers and their patches***

This sounds like an awesome idea. Do you have a link for this?

take you it never rolled the solo celestis pre damp nerf. Damp them below web and scram range and just sit at like 9km. Now this no longer works due to the large number of changes since then however the arazu has bonuses that make this tiny window of operation much much much larger. You scram them at range with a faction scram to prevent movement then damp them down to the point where they cannot lock you at 18-22km. Mild dps and patience is need from this point.

I've killed stuff with a solo arazu but the dps is terribly weak. To be fair, it's no worse than a curse dps wise but unlike the curse it can't use neuts to shut down active hardeners/reppers. So you have to actually fight any active tanking mods they have. That said it can put out about 300 dps, so you can whittle away at most armor buffer tanked ships. It fairs pretty well against frigate and cruiser hulls. You probably want a scram for those however, don't want them getting too close.
My arazu's are generally railgun fit though I have tinkered with a blaster fit off and on. I don't advise the blasters for starting out with. Range is your friend with all recons except the pilgrim.

My problem with the Blaster Arazu is essentially that a Pilgrim is better, much so.

Yes I played pre-damp nerf and there was many more dangerous ships with damps then. But unless the OP has a time machine I don't see how any of that is relevant?

How ever lol this may be, if these 4 damps can bring targeting range under 18km, it may just work. How ever fail.
With all V's + rigs, each damp gives just over 58%. Not being a pro with stacking penalties, what would be the over all effectiveness of them?

I'd go shield tank and not bother with damps on blaster arazu. So you damp down to 18km targeting range, with blasters you want to be sitting right on their forehead anyway.
Pilgrim or proteus is much better.

With good skills you should be able to fit 200's with faction plutonium to hit @22k. Throw in a tracking comp and you might get Jav to hit at 17-20 for max dps. Damps with Scan Resolution Dampening Script will keep them from locking you. When you feel your luck running out swap to range damp script and they'll have issues touching you. That said Razu is not a dps machine so you'll need to choose targets wisely, ideally when they have heavy rat aggro. Spike should let you snipe at gtfo range while the drones chew up lighter targets. Overall you've got alot of options to have fun with the bonus of being able to keep such long range you're almost impossible to catch.

I think the biggest problem with the a solo Arazu is the speed. Damp strength and point range combo are an excellent pairing but I doubt you'll get cap stability to be able to reliably control range with a MWD. Most things you could expect to be able to kill will be faster than you.
All of which make target selection and skill very important, probably best to have Recon V for it as well.

Brain may be failing me, but I swear I saw a string of kills with Garmon in an Arazu or Lachesis. Might be worth digging up if it's real.

Of course it can be done. Don't bother asking the forums, if you fit it right you can use it solo and get kills, ask the forums you'll get crap answers. Just do it.
