Navy Slicer, Crusader or Malediction?
Small gang or solo PvP.
Assume perfect skills; this is an alt.

Slicer Definatly. It is Amarrs best Frigate in general and the easiest to train into.

Slicer is a really awesome solo frigate, although it needs a bit of skill to fly. Now that they're 17 mil or something I don't see any reason not to fly one.

Must agree, slicer is pure win. I rate it as the second best overall frigate hull in the game, second only to the dramiel. 24km small pulses with 24km point on a ship doing 4km/s+ is nasty. It doesn't require too much skill to handle, it's pretty straight forward. The hardest part is finding that sweet spot for the orbit button so you don't go flying out of point range but don't get too close either. Gotta be mindful of the cap too but that's true for basically everything in the game. Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |

Slicer is a gorgeous little ship. The slot layout and T2ness of the sader gives it a slightly bigger bag of tricks, but I'd still rather fly the Slicer.
Malediction is a bit meh for solo.
Given a choice of any Amarr frig for solo PvP i'd probably go with the Sentinel though. ---------- Who, me? |

Slicer is the love child between the Coercer and the Punisher .. you get the best of both with few drawbacks (other than inherent to race). Awesome hull to be sure. PS: Please nano it, I never get tired of popping those atrocities with my brawler fit
Crusader lost its power when scrams started killing MWDs, the 12-13km cookie cutter fit is simply too close to be viable against most targets. Awesome first tackler though with good damage to wipe drones quickly.
Malediction works best as primary tackle. It makes a decent brawler but fares poorly in the AC/Neut heavy environment of today.

I like both the Slicer and the Crusader.
Slicer is gud for 20+km pulse lasers and kiting; between speed and range you have a good shot against most (non-dramiel) frigates. Dramiels will just MWD into you and gank you though since they have more speed, dps, tracking, and HP .
For Crusaders I like the active tanked gatling pulse laser scram fit.
As for the Malediction... if I wanted a rocket boat I'd train Caldari Frig V and fly the Hookbill. ________________

Ok, so I've been looking into getting the Slicer.
I've had a play in EFT, but I can't decide if I should plate and buffer it or boost the resists and run a repper.
Poast your Slicer fits!

You NEED a warp disrupter. Never go anywhere near scram range.

Oh God I switched it for a Scram, yeah it was a WD but I wanted to see if a WD II fit and I clicked the wrong tab when switching it back.
I was wondering why my Cap looked so much better.

2x MPII MWD, Scram SAR, DCU, 2xANP, HSII Locus, 2xMetastasis
Exchange MWD for AB+Nos against rocket and high-speed/-tracking targets like Claws/DP-Drams/Hooks.
Abuse the snot out of heat and conflagration when chance presents itself.

Slicer is not a brawler. Prepared to get beat down by any commonly flown frig.

Good day:
Ninetails does fly his Slicer like a brawler; and wins most of the time with it.
They are all good ships; and each has a specific purpose that when flow within it, shines wonderfully.
When I solo, I prefer the Imperial Navy Slicer. In a fleet, the crusader or malediction based on the roles needed.
Thank you.

I newb....how exactly does it hit out at 24km? A medium pulse laser II only has a 6km optimal and a 2km falloff....no bonuses to range on the ship and with skill bonuses I still cant see how it hits out at 24km. Please edumicate my unknowing Caldari self on LaZ0rS!

Bonus to optimal on the Slicer + Scorch crystal. With beams and standard crystals it can hit out to 30km+ reliably.

The Cruor is far too slow to compare to the ships under discussion in this thread.

I'd agree, though as soon as someone adds "brawling" to the conversation about Amarr frigs the Cruor should be, at least, given a nod.

@Nizran
The increase/decrease to range on some weaponry comes from the ammo/crystals it uses, not from the gun or ship bonuses themselves
e.g/ Scorch crystals give 50% increase to range, Hail projectile ammo give 50% decrease to range etc. Skills and ships bonuses simply help to enhance those stats further (Increasing range even further or reducing the decrease in range)
And for the OP, Malediction, because 6 big blue engines on a teenie ship just looks awesome, and the extra mid-slot means you can have an MWD, warp jammer AND web, and if fit it with rockets and use the lows for speed mods you can be cap-stable with 1xCCC rig (or uber skills) which is pretty formidable in a 1v1 frig fight. You get to speed around at 3000m/s, your opponent can't go anywhere, whilst you pound away with your mini-missiles. (Rockets also a nice way to swat off any pesky drones when tackling something bigger in gangs)

Gistii B-Type 1MN MicroWarpdrive, this is critical to any slicer kiting fit...purely for the cap. It makes ALL the difference and its not all that expensive. Going from 2 min of cap stability to 7 min of cap stability is a big deal.
