Internet is being a bit dodgy for me. Not worth risking a ship over. Gonna grab a beer, cruise over to the DVR and play all those episodes of Initial D I missed while playing EVE.
To CCP:
Good luck guys. I'd rather the servers be down, than my data get compromised. Hope things get worked out soon.

Investigation indicates one of the following outcomes is to blame:
1] CCP are denying connections via Eutorings. Statistically, the LulzSec attack, centred in france, was likely to exploit the Eurorings network as Eurorings is a massive provider of Net Routing/Fibreoptic connectivity/DNS Host Servers. Because of this, blocking incoming activity from it's main source seems like a good temporary patch, but kicks us off.
2] Eurorings are denying connections to CCP. Statistically, the LulzSec attack, centred in france, was likely to exploit the Eurorings network as Eurorings is a massive provider of Net Routing/Fibreoptic connectivity/DNS Host Servers. Eurorings, seeing this, decided to blacklist connections via it's service that end at CCP.
3] Both of the Above.
There's only two things we can do. Proxy our way in, Or wait.

Huh, I thought losing a card got recorded as well, but my information is second hand, so, that works then.

I'll bet you everyone not connecting will get destination host unreachable from somewhere on the eurorings network just like the guy above me is saying.
eurorings is owned and run by KPN International Network Services. They operate a large Fiber optic network. I don't know if that blacklist is whats causing it as some of the blacklist records go back to march 2009. But this company seems to be a major part of European Backbone.
lol ya i do, I originally had the steps writen out to get the login servers ip address with netstat but I shortened it and cut the wrong parts :P Did you perhaps mean tracert instead of netstat?
And interestingly enough my Dest Host Unreachable is the first jump out of roadrunners nyc node..

Dont know why my connection is going to the netherlands. If the servers a based in London, and they do happen to use a Virgin Media Pipe I dont see why I am blocked. But anyways while I accept DDos is not a issue with CCP, it would appear more damage has been done than there letting on. I dont mind technical problems, but updates even if slight would put us all to calm. Thats one thing that gripes me about CCP is how slow they are to respond to customers rages. If my phone service goes down and I call BT to ask why I usually get an answer even if its there is a fault at exchange X and an engineer is on his way.
A simple DDos should not be causeing this amount of mahem

Their ISP will hold that block until the crap traffic wanes, most like...

im gettin sick of this i know this isnt particularly CCP fault, but, if they had bta security, along with patches, i might have been able to play my fauvorite game the past fornight, in fact i've had to upgrade my memory coz of a patch, along with a grpaihcs card by the 21st June, and now i cant login coz some ****head is just spamming msg's as far as i can tell
cant u just make the systems ignore those msg's?

people lose stuff all the time... I am sure they record all kinds of stuff. but they are not going to alter your credit Rating if you lose your card... If you lost it once a month though...
I wouldn't recommend making a habit of it, but if you're online data has spiralled out of control, and you can't even remember all the places that have your details let along be able to delete all of them (assuming they let you, and the data is actually deleted) then killing it at source, by invalidating the card works.
You might be able to just say to your credit card company that that is what you are trying to achieve. How they would take it however is an open question.
Then again I took the step of telling my bank that I would never ever use online or phone banking services, and to put a note on my account saying that was the case, and if anyone ever tried to set up phone or internet banking on the accounts... it wasn't me.
So they know I'm weird. __________________________________________________

It's quite possib;e that your connection is still routed to CCP via the EuroRings network. If Eurorings touches CCP, your connection may be routed through it. Thus, trouble.

Since CCP decided to crowd us all in here to muffle the different aspects even though many of us had started threads long before this one... DDOS - Do your part!
Hopefully you (EVE players) took the 6 hour downtime to let the virus checker complete its background scan of your system. No? Didn't do that?
Don't be a Zombie!!! Run Anti-virus and Trojan checking programs (and anything else legit) now and make sure you are not part of the DDOS problem. But- be very careful of where you get these programs - remember the recent Apple lesson.
Don't think it's you? - a friend found *3* Trojans on his comp today - after scanning clean yesterday.
