"The data package C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CCP\EVE\Downloads\EVEPREMIUM.6.45.264377-6.45.267203.7z is broken, do you wish to have the repair tool attempt to fix it?"
Someone, please put a bullet in repair.exe. I honestly cannot remember the last time it actually worked. The .7z file is ALWAYS corrupt -no matter how many dozen times it is downloaded. |

"EVE Online Update 267203->271273 Setup The data package C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CCP\EVE\downloads\EVEPREMIUM.6.45.267203-7.10.271273.7z is broken, do you whish to have the repair tool attempt to fix it?"
Same old same o...
".... if for some reason autopatching fails." Yeah. Right. That's like saying, repair.exe SHOULD work or autopatch SHOULD download a .7z file which isn't corrupt. '*WHEN* autopatching fails' would be more appropriate.
-Downloading the manual patch now... as usual.

Edited by: WheatGrass on 22/06/2011 16:02:05 Disk space is an issue for me. So, here's what's cooking now...
Download the full install package files from... http://www.eveonline.com/download/?fallback=1&
Burn those files to DVD. They include the following: EVE_Premium_Setup_271273.exe (3,725 KB) eveonline_271273_1of2.7z (2,327,264 KB) eveonline_271273_2of2.7z (2,191,098 KB)
Delete originals from HDD. Delete contents of C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE Delete contents of C:\Documents and Settings\%HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\Temp (i.e. all of the failed repair attempts)
Launch .exe file from DVD. Complete installation.
Launch Eve Online Apply the update to the update.
Mine Veldspar.
It works.

Thank you, CCP, for noticing this.
As for the patch from 271273->273475, there was a checksum mismatch. I did not opt for the installer downloading the patch again as that never seems to change the outcome.
Opera v11.11, Win XP Pro x64, and 7-Zip v9.20 are what I'm using.
Downloading the patch 'manually' worked fine.

Both the EVE Online Update Setup and repair.exe programs failed... again.
The "EVE Online Update 273475->288329 Setup" generated the following error: "The data package....is broken. Do you wish to have the repair tool attempt to fix it?"
I chose "Yes" and watched the repair tool fail.
The next dialog box indicated, "Applying the patch has failed, do you wish to launch the repair tool and have it attempt to fix the broken client?" (Correctly phrased, the dialog box would have indicated, "Applying the patch has failed. Do you wish to launch the repair tool to fix the broken client?") Grammar aside, I chose "No" because of a prior failure with the patch.
Next up was a dialog indicating the usual checksum mis-match message with a link to "download manually". The checksum information was as follows: "Checksum was be7e5ac183f6e3df64ebd6d1d1bc9121 expected 1696bc9075b057e59e016fc772e5008c".
As usual, the manual download worked fine. Disk space was not an issue this time around.
